Oils for massage service?
« on: 13 February 2024, 07:25:06 am »
What are your favourite oils to use when giving massages? I’ve been using a combination of baby oil and a basic scented oil, but I want to find something with a lot of silk and slip. I also might start bringing an extra bed sheet to lay on top of the beds? (Especially in hotels) to help with the messy clean up!

I use coconut oil.  It solidifies but I put some already melted into a baby oil bottle and I keep that warm all day in a baby bottle warmer.  I wouldn't use anything with a strong scent as that could linger on them.

Fractionated coconut oil is always liquid it's great but the downside is it can leave a rancid smell on towels, bedding and leave your washing machine oily af. I've had to bin loads of lingerie I couldnt wash at 60 degrees to fully get it out

I buy whatever is affordable on amazon. Ensuring it is scent free.

I don't use the fractionated.  I get mine from Costco, organic unrefined.  I use it for cooking as well.  Never had a problem with it staining stuff, not even my throws.

In my experience I do offer massage service if a client does require this I always ask do they have any allergies first just in case of an allergic reaction, as I have had one guy saying he didn't like certain oils not even baby oil but as I'm into Aromatherapy I always use a base oil from Holland & Barrett Almond oil highly recommend that :)

I use either almond oil or grapeseed oil,  some people with nut allergy react to almond oil. I too practice aromatherapy have sometimes made blends to use but always with permission from client, explaining I'm not qualified. This has been rate though as I am not often asked, and prefer to err on side of caution.

Add DriPak Soda Crystals to the laundry, it will sort this.

I use sweet almond oil and add a few drops of ylang ylang. Slides lovely and no smell.

I use baby oil as it's soft and gentle, just in case the client has any skin sensitivities.
