Blocking out eyes/face in pictures
« on: 28 March 2016, 11:42:11 pm »
Hi everyone!

I've been posting ads on some local sites recently, and find that about half of the escorts block their eyes, and half don't. Are there pros and cons to these? Are there dangers to not blocking out your eyes in a photo you post?

Thanks!

It depends on if you want to risk your friends or family stumbling across the ad and seeing your face on it.Alot of escorts prefer to be as discrete as possible and therefore don't like to have their face on their ads.You do get some ads that don't have genuine pictures on as well (bait and switch that if you run something like tineye will reveal the picture is of a stock model).

Are you completely certain that there will never be anyone - including future partners / children / employers - who you would mind seeing your face on an escort ad?

If so, go for showing your face...

... otherwise, have some plausible deniability and blur / conceal / whatever your eyes etc.

I think that there are just so many reasons to hide your face and not many not to. Some punters will complain they want to see your face but most of them are not that interested in paying for your services they are just being nosey so on top of stopping family,friends,co-workers if you have another job etc seeing your face on these adds you also stop nosey people looking at your ads and recognising you.

If you market yourself right and have some decent shot of yourself then blurring all or part of your face won't affect your business. Punters probably select more on body shots than face shots and on how you market yourself in your ad.

I have never show my face, in any of my pictures. But if client lives in my area, they remember my tattoos, as I have lots on both my legs etc. lol

Ahhhh I didn't even think of tattoos. Do people tend to cover their tattoos up in photos as well?

Just like face pics its down to how bothered you are whether people can regonise you or not but yes alot of escorts will photoshop any distinguishing features such as tattoos.

Does having  a black strip across your eyes or blurring your face really work? Can't help feeling that anyone who knows you reasonably well will recognise you anyway. Most people will recognise people close to them from the back without seeing a face.

People only tend to recognise distinguishing features like a face or tattoos or if someone has an unusual hairstyle or colour.A size 12 brunette in her undies can look pretty much like any other size 12 brunette in her undies and it's a hell of a lot easier to deny it's you on an escort profile if you aren't showing your face if someone does think it may be you.Although of course nothing is foolproof,it certainly minimises the risk of someone being able to say out and out it is you.I show my face etc as I've already been outed and I look quite different in my day to day life when I am not all glammed up as Bibi.

I used to show my face all the time without a problem mostly because I couldn't give a fuck who might have found out but ironically when I was outed by a burnt ex of mine I stopped showing my face to protect my husbands children from finding out.

I've lost no business and have never been asked for a face pic either if anyone ever asks me that I will just hang up seeing as it will only be a timewaster anyway.

personally i would recommend blocking any distinguishing features.  As i've realised, this line of work shows how small this world is, and social media only elevates this.

I removed lots of my private pics that had previously shown my face on my AW private gallery.

Now I realise I still have quite a few with identifying bedding/furniture in my bedroom etc that could do to be removed .....

It isn't just our face sometimes that can reveal our identity ....
