I used to tour constantly.  Since covid i not bothered touring and I work from home.  When working from home I had to change my whole approach to client footfall,  Advertising, noise arriving-during booking-leaving.

I basically did a risk assessment on my home and myself.  What can my neighbours see and hear and how I attempt to prevent issues.    I cannot work from home the same as I can on tour otherwise I will get caught out.  And I own my home so there's no just moving out if it goes tits up.  I actually make more profit working from home.

After 18 years in the biz on/off I started WFH for the first time last year.  Yes I’d had an apartment once that was solely for my use but had my family home elsewhere but that is not exactly WFH.  There are pros and cons and I would advise any fellow escort to think about it carefully before making the decision as once you’ve crossed that line there’s no going back should anything go wrong. The only results would be to either get the Police involved, something I unfortunately had to do at the last apartment that I used solely or move.  If you own the property as Miss Betty has highlighted that is very difficult.

I’ll list the pros & cons for me:

Pros: Lower overheads as not paying for 2 places, more flexibility to accept bookings as not restricted to check in/ out times of hotels & serviced apartments, you can keep all your lingerie & kit there so no chance of not having something to hand for a last min request, you can be quite the hostess with your own champagne flutes, etc, you can take pride in keeping it spotlessly clean & finally, you can set the ambience with your own lighting & soft furnishings.

Cons: The worry of a client potentially becoming a stalker & arriving at your boudoir unannounced (this happened at one of my previous places, hence having to get the Police involved who were very understanding, on my side & absolutely amazing), the neighbours possibly finding out & if you rent reporting you to the management company, if you own the property for a small fee clients can search your address on the Land Registry to find out your real name & finally not feeling as though you have that ‘safe space’ to retire to after a hard days work.  We all need that safe haven in our job & somewhere in which we can fully switch off.  I have really struggled with the latter and it’s making me question whether WFH is the right choice for me.

I've worked from home 'on and off' for a number of years and have learned by mistakes. I don't allow anyone to park at my home (naively I used to offer this so you can imagine the curtain twitching going on). I only do this part-time alongside a civvy job so I try and keep my bookings to a minimum, difficult I know and I screen potential new clients as much as possible and just keep my fingers crossed that my neighbours don't find out. :-X :-X

I live in a block of flats with predominately  foreign tenants who are out all day, they dont see me ever .
I do wonder if beyond that I might be marked in the area as a local escort  :-\
By doing this work on and off for some years

OMG the stress I used to feel WFH. I'd never do it now because anything can be posted online whereas back in the day, it was all newspaper advertising. I only ever had a few regs knocking on the door unannounced but it drove me psycho. I had one idiot regular who posted a note through the door with, "to lovely *fake name* and my friend knocked on the door and saw it before I did. I'm a lot of a recluse now but I have bumped into my men before out and about. One time my best friend introduced me to this guy she had been banging on about that she fancied, and yep, a regular. Gyno turned out to be my regular, too (talk about a busman's holiday). Also bumped into a guy I'd seen out and about in a pub.

So if you work local, expect it could happen is all I'm saying. I find all the ducking and diving of this job so stressful - the actual sex is fine for me.

I agree with above ^ the ducking and diving drives me mad especially if you work in the area you live in.

I have worked from home since all the Covid stuff kicked off. I own my home so I’m not worried about any landlord finding out. Yes a client could go out of their way to find out my real name via the land registry but I’m not that bothered about that.
However I am quite strict on who I allow into my home, they either have to have a good amount of positive feedback or pay a deposit via bank transfer (so I have their legal name) so I find this weeds out most time wasters and idiots.

My boyfriend lives with me and I don’t hide the fact, his shoes are at the door etc and if anything comes up in conversation I always make it known

I’m not worried about my neighbours. They’re all quite quiet and older too so I’m not sure they’d come to the conclusion I’m a hooker but I’m not bothered if they do either.

I tell clients to park around the corner and walk round and I usually only see 1 client per day.

There are a few people that know what I do in my town but that’s not due to being found on AW or neighbours, that’s because of certain friends people with big mouths. It’s not the best feeling when it first happens but honestly it’s old news pretty quickly. I really don’t think people run around shouting it from the roof tops. I’ve never had anyone say anything to my face. Nor have I ever bumped into a client in my home town. Although I don’t really go out much, just do my shopping etc but I’m not in the pubs on a Friday night.

There’s pros and cons. We have to do what we are most comfortable with but I’d deffo advice stricter screening when WFH

I hope not!
I hope not
Like most I work very hard to avoid it and make it look like I am busy with my imaginary business/consultancy  ;)
