Hi, long time lurker and I've just joined Saafe
« on: 23 February 2014, 09:52:51 am »
Hi I've just joined Saafe after recently reading the excellent advice on touring.  I've toured before and it was worth it, although a little lonely.  I am huge on discretion (paranoid) and I know it's a bit 'previous' to be asking a question which is kind of specific and which must be dealt with delicately.  Long question short I am going to Gatwick soon and I wondered if anyone could give me some advice on a safe place to stay.  I'm mainly worried about the card entry thing and also the bigger the better (more anonymous).  I understand whyt it's not possible for me to view the touring section but I really just want to avoid spending my money to stay somewhere that is going to be difficult and I definitely don't want to have to go down to reception to greet my 'visitors'. Thank you in advance to anyone who can advise me.

Have a look at Tripadvisor and see if the guests mention key carded lifts etc.

If that doesn't work phone the hotel and ask them directly.
Act like you are going through a random checklist i.e, do your windows open fully, do you have a safe, what time is your bar open till, are your halls accessible, or by key cards only.

They will be used to it, and shouldn't be suspicious by these sorts of questions.
