I really wanted to ask this question on here whether or not you count the money in front of clients ? (for cash payments)
I've noticed this is quite of a controversial question as people (both girls and clients) have mixed views on it.

Personally, I now ALWAYS count money in front of the client, I just feel that it's good and professional to make sure the right amount is there before the client even go for shower. Of course, clients trying to underpay on purpose are rare but even without the intention of doing so, mistakes happen (generally £10 or £20 missing to the total amount just because the client didn't count properly in the first place, not on purpose>>> still happen to me yesterday lol).

I've been told a few times (both by girls and clients) that it feels very transactional and rude to count the money in front of them, but yes it's a business, and like in every business, if a cash payment is made, the person at the counter will always count to make sure the right amount is there, to me this sounds super logic and common sense.

As well, I think not counting the money in front of the client can lead to awkward situations in case there is some money missing (been there once), like imagine you wait for the client to go to the bathroom, you count the money, £20/£10 is missing and when the client comes back you tell him that the amount he gave is incorrect, then the client says he is sure he gave the right amount and then the situation becomes awkward because the client might think you're trying to scam him, which implement a very bad vibe for the booking ahead.

What do you all think ? 

I usually do, yes, and I think with the habit of the new plastic notes to stick together it's a good idea. At least doing it in front of them there can be no argument. As with VC, for regs maybe not, but with a new client always, and I think decent blokes understand/don't mind. Also, I've found too much more often than too little, so the client has come off better!

Sorry but unless you or whoever does not see it as a paid job then i have no idea why it's controversial.

I find it very strange for women not to count the money and it needs counting as there is so many bad guys out there who try to not pay and underpay. The few women i know of that found uncomfortable counting it or getting it upfront have been ripped off a few times.

I had someone turn a bit funny because i counted the money in front of him..but that guy was a dick and obviously cannot understand that this is business and i would not fuck you without payment.

Most decent men understand why we need to count it just like when we buy stuff in shops or pay for a meal they count it.

Justine i think the men that look down on us for counting it are the same men that want to pretend we only do this job because we are sex mad and money does not matter so when they see us being professional by counting a stranger's money there little fantasy has drifted off and off course some don't like it as they hate parting with there money as it is.

I even count with men i seen several times. I always do count it in front of them as if it is short i want them to see it with there own eyes.

I prefer to check the money in front of them. I often say something like "Gosh these new notes are so awkward aren't they, they get stuck together so easily, someone nearly gave me an extra £20 yesterday by mistake!"

If it's a regular then I sometimes don't bother.

That's exactly what I say as well although occasionally I'll get a client who counts it out in front of me, or asks me to count it "to make sure it's right"

Always.  Trust no one.  Regulars will start to take the piss and shortchange you at some point.  And of course new men don't get trust because we have no idea who they are..........   The only times I have been shortchanged is when I have not counted the money in front of the client.

I used to sort of trust people and just put it away but I’ve been down 20 or 40 a lot of times at the end of the day. it’s not a lot but it certainly adds up after a few times so now I 100% count it I don’t care if I look rude. A few times they’ve over paid by 10 or 20 by accident and I always give it them back x

I always count it in front of them, usually say something like "will just double check it, would hate to accidentally have taken your money to get home or something". That way it comes across like I'm counting it for their benefit, plus it means you both know for sure if it is over or under.
