I actually removed the 25 per cent deposit thing, and the booking through AW. But someone above mentioned a 10% deposit on incalls - do you think this would work?

I only ask for deposit for outcalls via Amazon giftcard as I don't want them to have my real full name. Timewasters are part of this job unfortunately. It may be down to your pricing, photos, lack of services or the copy in your profile e.g not being clear/concise.

I do take a deposit from new clients for incall (or if they start cancelling/haven't seen me for a long time), but I do have many regulars and limited spaces for new clients. I will actually say the demand for incalls can mean some will pay this. Yes I hear the 'been scammed' stories, some I think are true, some I think are trying to get around it. Did take a while for some to realise they can't get around it, but enough will. I no longer use gift cards though as they were abused, many paid their entire booking this way or a higher deposit voluntarily, or cancelled and paid another by gift card. I need cash flow (actual money through my bank account) for bills, tax, living in general.

I mean I do a couple outcalls a month...and all my incalls are cash only, no bank transfer or giftcard under any circumstances. Had no issues so far. I find most guys prefer it that way as its discreet.

I personally have always taken a 25% deposit and have had no issues with people paying either by bank transfer (marked as gift) or amazon giftcard. Been doing the same for over 10 years now and I'm still booked up. Aslong as you have a decent number of feedback on aw, you should be fine.

I started taking deposits 10 years ago due to unreliability of new clients and sometimes clients who'd seen me once, twice, even some regulars. I was fed up of the chopping, changing, no shows, not bothering to confirm, confirming late. New clients were blocking my diary for regulars who were reliable. I'd tried everything suggested, I stopped accepting new clients because for other reasons I had regulars wanting chance to see me before a planned move and change to outcall only. A new client who really wanted to see me said he would be prepared to pay a deposit. I won't  work without a deposit now, and learned has to be first 2 bookings because (just as when i didn't take a deposit, 50 % would let me down on the second booking).

When it became possible to offer a limited number of incalls I carried on taking deposits,

I still have some new and repeat client reliability issues even when the deposit is relatively high, but I'm not in a 'high traffic area'. Clients usually have to plan to travel to me, or me to them.

I'm finding even clients who have seen me a couple times to be just as unreliable..saying they will book and confirming and then giving a rubbish excuse! As I'm part time (2 days a week) I just take the loss and let someone else take that slot. Many of these guys are unhinged and wouldn't want them to have my personal details, would rather lose the booking.

Every time I host incalls, I assume atleast one person will not turn up haha. The only guarantee is what I make at the end of the day.

I take a £20-£50 deposit through Throne for new clients. I haven't yet required it for clients I've already met because, although they can sometimes be unreliable when it comes to last-minute cancellations, the vast majority are reliable.

I have a full schedule and many reviews on AW. I've also been in the industry for years, so my profile is reliable, and the vast majority of clients have no problem giving me deposits.
