Escort Agency
« on: 28 December 2011, 10:57:27 pm »
Ok

I'm just starting out with this.

I applied to an agency, s******* escorts and had a response saying they'd like me to come in tomorrow so they can check my id and have more photos done and I am welcome to stay and work afterwards. They've asked for my address so they can send a driver at 7pm tomorrow.

I just wanted to check that they are ok in case this was dodgy, I'm not quite sure what to expect with all this you see!

Hope you can help :) x

Hi Katherine and welcome to SAAFE  :)

I've modified your post because we do not rate or recommend specific agencies here - they have to pay for their advertising like anybody else and the advice for choosing one to employ is the same no matter which one you have contacted.

I would strongly advise against giving them your address and even more strongly against getting in a car with any stranger - you don't know these people or their driver from Adam and should you decide not to go ahead you really don't want them having any of your personal details (and I wouldn't give them your ID either unless the purpose is for a proof of age check, in which case make sure that you conceal your legal name and any other information). I can't emphasise either of these things enough, to be honest. Ask them where they want you to be at seven and get a taxi - make sure somebody knows exactly where you are going and how long you expect to be there, and if this is not a public place (like a cafe, say) consider getting somebody to go with you.

It's important to remember that escort agencies are illegal operations and whilst there are some responsible ones out there, there are tin pot operation with no idea what they are doing popping up all over the place as every man and his dog thinks they'll cream a bit of cash off without doing anything to earn it. Please read the main SAAFE site thoroughly and also this thread about things to look for when choosing an agency or parlour.

If they haven't asked you for any money upfront, then they're not a scam. This does not mean that they're any good or have any idea what they're doing, and even if they are it doesn't mean they'll get you a lot of work - it's a very difficult time to be starting off when everyone is skint, and a lot of punters are sticking with regulars adn established ladies. I'm not trying to put you off completely, but it's important to be realistic and not fall for whatever the people who want a slice of your earnings are going to tell you.

EDIT: I missed the part about 'staying to work' earlier, but be aware that in this case it is a brothel, not an agency. From some angles it's better in the event that the owners haven't got a clue about security checks, but do be aware that they are likely to want at least 50% of what you earn, and having just had a look at their penny dreadful website this isn't likely to be a lot.

Hmm. "Stay and work" + "driver" could mean it's one of those agencies that drive girls around overnight to client after client (or she has to sit in the car for hours freezing her bum off), using clients' showers or not getting one at all?

But either way, brothel or agency, they're illegal operations often run by complete crooks and - worse - idiots so as Amy says, you *must* get yourself a safety buddy as you need someone who cares about you (and not about how much money you might earn for them) to know where you are and where to find you should you ring them in need of rescuing.

A 'driving agency' (I just made that term up; you could also use 'icky agency that no girl I've ever heard from has enjoyed working for'!) will likely expect you to pay a massive percentage of your earnings towards the driver, who will likely just be some random bloke who needs the money, not a formally-qualified security professional. So the agency will tell you not to worry, you just go right into all these strange men's houses; they'll tell you they've vetted the clients according to the strictest procedures, and they'll say your driver is an ex-army guy trained in krav maga who's spent his whole life so far protecting innocent civillians from terrorists etc etc and just now happens to be working for a bunch of criminals taking money from prossies while trying to convince them that this is all very necessary for their own safety. So you shouldn't worry, they'll say; you're totally safe.

Unfortunately, they'll just say whatever they think you need to hear to get you out there earning money from having sex with men that you then hand over to the agency. So don't believe anything any agency-related person tells you and make sure you have your OWN friend(s) looking out for you at all times.

Oh, and if at any point the agency do something you don't really like, such as sending you to rubbish clients or failing to get you any clients at all, just bail immediately. Make a vague excuse - and, to repeat Amy again, make sure they do NOT know anything about where you live or your real full name etc! - and just ditch them, because agencies often do nothing to earn their commission that us indies don't do in about fifteen minutes ourselves, so there's no point working with an agency who aren't at least decent - it's just a total rip-off. If they're any less than decent (and unfortunately many of them are way less than decent!), they aren't worth wasting your time with; you and your time are very valuable, after all. :)

What they said plus - although it could be a complete coincidence - that was the name of a bunch of rapists based in Berkshire. Their method was to promise a big pile of money for an overnight booking with several men and then rob the victim, with violence if necessary, in the morning after a rather unpleasant night.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Hey ladies.

Thanks for your advice.

I thought about it and Sent them an email saying "thank you for your time but I have decided to go in another direction"
They weren't too please and begged me to come in anyway.

I don't trust anyone with worse spelling than mine and no grammar as a rule of thumb.

So I'm sitting here contemplating things and am seriously considering jumping in and going indie, from what I've heard it seems like a better option, so I'm coming up with a viable security plan, looking for a security buddy and taking responsibility for myself! If you want something doing well you have to do it yourself as they say!!

Would appreciate any more advice you ladies have.

Thanks,

Katherine x

Well at risk of repeating myself to the point where I can't remember if I have or not the best thing to do to start off with is to read the main site; this forum is only part of SAAFE and the main site is where the bulk of the information is to be found. You will find articles on safety and security, tax and self employment, advertising, healthcare and lots of other things as well as a ten point start up plan for newbies; the main purpose of the site is to help people get started working safely, responsibly and with their eyes wide open.

If you have specific questions after that, bring them back to the forum and we're all here to help  :).
