Admin and customer service... Not completely a lie as there is lots of that involved in the job.  ;)

Could anyone advise me of a cover story for being dressed up and sometimes being away from home? So that I can secretly work and have an explanation.

In my early days of escorting (I was in my early 20s) before I set up my business & had a real cover I used to tell people I worked as meet & greet at Manchester airport.  I’m not sure how far you live from an airport but if you’re an hour or so away it would provide the perfect cover.

My first couple of years escorting were for [an agency] & [the] client base were businessmen in hotels.  She had a strict policy on how you should dress so I would leave the house early evening dressed up in a tailored dress during summertime or a business suit come winter complemented with stockings & heels.  My cover story was perfect as the ladies who do work as meet & greet welcoming business people to the airport & guided them through dress in such a fashion.
