God no Dexi I don't recommend working from your actual home where you live as once guys find out its where you live and they will they will think its ok to just turn up randomly coz you live there
Another reason is your neighbours and safety reasons as I just posted on another thread.
Could you not share an apartment with another wg or hire one by the hour if its just a few bookings a week you plan to do?
I have tried for 10 months to find a place to work from with another girl, and have advertised on several forums requesting this, and sadly only one girl got in touch. As lovely as she was the apartment she worked from wasn't up to my standard, so have had to work from hotels which isn't financially viable for me sometimes, as when I've booked hotels in the past guys cancel or don't show and I've had to lay out the costs. I don't want to be adding to the huge debt that I already have. This is one of the main reasons why I'm looking to rent elsewhere so I can work.
As for guys turning up unannounced, I have taken into consideration all the tips that other girls have mentioned, and one thing that is apparent is that it is very handy to give the impression that a male lives where you work from. In that respect I've got that area covered with a husband.
The unexpected will always happen whether you work from home, a shared apartment with another girl or hotels, but we take as many precautions as possible to limit the unexpected from happening more often.
I have over the last 2 days viewed 4 apartments. The first 2 only ticked 7 out of the 13 things on my check list (and that was before I even went into the properties). One had nine, and the other ticked 12. I was sooooooo disappointed with the one that ticked 12 as it was an amazing apartment, but the huge drawback was it had a concierge. I came away thinking to myself "can I make this work?" After much deliberation with hubby I had to resign myself to the fact that it wasn't and was really fed up for the rest of yesterday.
