Coping with the heat
« on: 16 July 2013, 07:04:35 pm »
How are you all coping with this heat and working? In London it has been in the high 20's and up to 30's for the past week. I am working in my apartment so no air conditioning and the heat is making it really hard. I have a fan but all it seems to do is blow the warm air around. Any tips on seeing clients in this heat?

Put a bowl of ice in front of the fan so that it cools the air.

It's been hot here in Scotland too but I'm not struggling so much because I grew up somewhere hotter than this but am struggling with the humidity.  Make sure that you drink plenty of water... and like Mrs Mischief suggested, a bowl of ice in front of the fan should help.

Will definitely try the bowl of ice in front of the fan. Sounds like a good tip. Thanks Mrs Mischief

This is what i wanna know cause I'm struggling big time with the heat, I'm just not physically able to work longer hours like id like cause the heat is just making me look like a sweaty mess. After one booking i find my make up runs, my hair is sweaty and matted at the back as its long and it just makes me feel exhausted, id do anything for some cooler weather  :-\

Move to Scotland, we are actually lucky to see the sun this time.

There was 30 on weather forecast for today but it felt like 40.Not only hot but humid as well.
After 5 minutes outside I've been sweating, and all I wanted was to get rid of my clothes and jump into shower.
Thank god for air conditioning,it's nice and cool in my hotel room :)

I would love to be in a nice cool air conditioned hotel room. Working from my incall apartment which sadly doesn't have air con. Had 3 clients today and have felt awful constantly sweating and feeling faint and queasy so think I will take tomorrow off. The heat just puts me off working

Oh Paris, my body could do with that, not yours, take my body with you instead of your own, then you will have more to lose, I could do with losing 4 stones, am I gonna try ................. no fn chance.  Ill live with it.  Good luck though, hope you enjoy.
