Working after TERRIBLE experience.
« on: 24 October 2019, 09:08:43 pm »
Hey all looking for some advice really..

So, I had to stop working abruptly 6 months ago as was held at knife point by someone who posed as a cllient but then robbed me with another guy with a knife to my throat.

After this incident I stopped as was traumatised and scared. When i left all my earnings were gone so was in a worse of position when i quit.

I'm now wanting to get back into escorting as quite frankly need the money and before that incident I had been working for 3 years without any major incidents.

Can anyone give me any tips on how to keep safe?

Also what is ugly mugs about?

Thanks in advance..

Hey!
Firstly, I’m so sorry you went through that awful experience. Did the guys get caught?? Where was it you were working from, a private residence or hotel??
Ugly Mugs is free place where you can search and report dangerous people.
You can search a mobile number for any reports already up, or you can use the number you have of a dangerous person to log that for other people to see/find.

It’s helped me out a few times with people who had tried to book me.
Also, you should download an app called ClientEye, that’s a similar thing too and it’s good in that if a number calls you that’s already logged on the app as dangerous, or time waster, etc, then it has a note under the number which is  calling you saying that this number has a report on the app already.

I’ve also dodged a few callers thanks to having that app. It’s easy for you to log dangerous people there too.

Hope that’s helped a little x

I’m not sure about TrueCaller - but I’m sure someone else can comment on that.

I definitely recommend downloading ClientEye and getting to know before you even answer the phone  if the person calling has a report made against them

Yes, I will add that I am so terribly sorry that this happened to you. I can't imagine, that would be a traumatizing experience. I am glad that you are okay.

I use Truecaller and it works pretty well. It doesn't always give the name of the client, but it can let you know if the number is from a cell phone and it lists the name of the provider. Or, it will also let you know if it is with a text app. Where I am located in Canada, I can tell if it's a text app if it's from companies called "Iristel" or "Distributel". Probably, once you start using it, you'll be able to figure out what kind number they are texting/calling you from.

Glad to hear they got their punishment!

Hi Hotgalll

Firstly I'm so sorry you have been through this, I have had a similar experience but only one man was involved and it was his first offence of this type. Back then NUM was only just being formed, I find their support is very good they've helped with a few things including liaising with the police when they've been in touch not related to incidents (yeah!).

My biggest tip is don't get complacent, and look before letting someone in. Your safety is most important once something happens there's no way to undo it.
