Hi I received this text yesterday and wondered if anyone else had received it and had any thoughts or feedback
"Hiya, you have been selected through adultwork.com for 60 days free advertising on the brand new website [deleted]. It is free and no obligation, if you are interested please reply to this message with your name and you will be contacted by a member of our team shortly."

I can't post a link easily because I'm on my BlackBerry but see the Advertising Platform thread in the Spamming section.

My only feedback for those who spam me by text is to delete and ignore rather than waste money responding, but you could complain to AW if anything actually arrives via the site itself. Since the party responsible is chancing his arm advertising here already, I have removed the link from your post/header.

Would you want to advertise somewhere with such an incredibly tacky name?

Also, I'm not sure if you've been advertising as an escort long, Bee, but it won't be too much longer before you've seen more "New Escort Advertising Site Pay Now For Discounted Listing OMG!!1!" spam than you can shake a stick at. :P

My policy is to regularly (erm, well, every 3 months or so!) run some Google searches ("independent escort [your area]", "independent escorts", "[busty/mature/blonde/curvy/etc] escorts" and all sorts of variations and combinations thereof) and make sure to register on any directories that show up on the first page of results. Of course, double-check that they aren't just spammy crap sites but if they're in the top search results for, say, 6 months, it's a pretty safe bet that they aren't just for hosting porn ads or whatever.

All these new directories can shove their "Front Page Listing Only ?150 Special Offer FOr YoU OnLy!1!!" spam up their arses; I'm not paying to be on a crap directory no clients ever look at (because they barely show up on page 1,504 of Google) when you can be on much bigger and more important directories/listings sites for free.

Their ever-more-annoying methods of spamming are a right pain, as well. They'll phone, text and email you and like any spam, if you respond it only gets worse. Quickly mark this stuff as spam and block & trash it.

You can also find out where most of your site hits are coming from using Google Analytics (pop that into a Google search if you fancy checking it out) - if you suddenly do get 1,000 hits in a day (AND at least 100 appointment requests - argh, lol!) from crappyescortsite.com then maybe it's worth considering. But, well, even if this happens it means crappyescortsite.com stole your details and added them to their site to make it look better without your permission, so that's not a good sign.

Same as successful escorts have no need for spamming or touting for clients, neither do successful directories. In fact, I hate any sort of advertising like this - if I decide I need a photographer/male escort/plumber/pair of shoes, I'll go and find 'em MYSELF, for god's sake. But that's just a generalized grumble and not particularly to do with anything. ;D

Oh, well then. They'll probably have farmed your number from AW (and other directory sites) yonks ago. Spamming is a complex and thorough process!

Anyone in any doubt as to the level of industry knowledge of the person behind this site only needs to read his thread in the Spamming section here.

All the current advertisers on the site are his own operations (thank you, Nominet) 'BunnyMassage' has already been banned from here for touting and doublenicking, and the pictures are all fake. 'Juliette', for example is US model Ursula Mayes, who is unlikely (lets face it) to be whoring in Marble Arch or wherever - likewise Elsa Pataky, who must have fallen on hard times since she is apparently working at aforementioned parlour in Croydon, if the picture on CTE is to be believed).

Ignore him and he'll go away. Anyone remember B**tc*rts? No, thought not.
