I don't work if I have a cold sore.
While genital herpes is usually hsv2  it can also be caused by hsv1. And a condom won't stop and mouth to ball or mouth to mouth contact.

Makes sense! Sometimes mine can take a week or so to clear completely! Plus I get them quite frequently! Not good!

Take l-lysine supplements. Check out reviews online for them to do with coldsores. I used to get them every month and haven't had one in years now. They also help speed up the healing process if you do get one and you can get l-lysine lipbalms etc too. Amazon sell them

Let's put it this way, if a client turns up and he's got a cold sore my services are drastically reduced or I just ask them to leave and return when they are better.

When I have had a cold sore I have removed full service from my profile and only offered massage with HR.

I do have a little cold sore light machine someone bought me from Boots, it delivers an ultra beam to cold sore to quicken the healing process and I swear by it should I ever get another.  If it's a reoccurring problem you can always get the tablets at GPs which you take 1 a day to prevent further outbreaks.  You can also take the pills at the beginning of an outbreak which are 4 a day but must start treatment within 48 hours of outbreak.

You can take aciclovir tablets daily to prevent them. I used to lose so much money and felt really bad for having to cancel bookings all the time because yet another cold sore had popped up overnight - they're meant for genital herpes but I managed to get hold of them online and as long as I remember to take them (especially when I'm feeling stressed - you'll also often notice you'll have a sore throat beforehand) they work wonders and I haven't noticed any side effects.

Yes, i am taking them if necessary and work very well. you can stop to grow as well.
more you can use invisible patch to reduce potential long marks.

i do not know how work in Uk, my family from my country sending to me.
normally you need a prescriptions...not all gp want give you it because it is expansive.
you should talk to your gp and push him/her to give a prescriptions, more if you have a lot of crisis.

Anyway if your immune system is well, you should not have it too much.
so check your diet, your general health...and your stress level also.

It can be pretty tricky getting it, I know some who get private health checks which show the herpes strain in the system but don't differentiate between genital/cold sores and they can get medication that way, but I don't know if I'm allowed to post details of the site I use to get mine as I don't have private health care so feel free to message me if you'd like more details

You can get the Acciculavar tablets from a GP you don't need to buy them online.  And they are not just for genital herpes they are for herpes in general.  I have had them from my GP for cold sores on my lips, I do not have genital herpes and GP has no issue in prescribing them.

Prescriptions are not expensive in the UK.

Mine did too that's why I have to buy them online but they're not super expensive so I don't mind covering that cost (especially considering how much money I used to lose out on before)

i know that...the medicament is expansive for NHS...not for us! went to one in london and he doesn t.
depend if you find a kind gp....also i lived in other big city in Europe and my gp didn t give the prescription because of the cost.
where live my family is different, (always in Europe) is a small village and you know every one  and they know you ...so not issue to get a prescription. for many cold sore on the lips is nothing..so you should go to your gp and just say that you are working with your apparence...like a victim :-X :-\..if i have it i can not work and blabla..i am depress and i feel not confident...blabla...

some gp they will easy..private gp is better!
so go to a private and should be fine.
there are online gp only for prescription...i never used but i google it fews week ago when i need urgent antibiotic and was weekend

So glad I found this thread.
I got a small lump on my lip late last week. It was only slightly noticeable when not wearing make up, but once I'd got my lipstick on you couldn't see it at all.  At the weekend, thinking it was just a spot (I'd not had any tingling or soreness), I tried to burst it, as it had a tiny head, then put some sudocrem on it.  After a couple of days trying sudocrem and toothpaste, it wasn't drying out, and kept cracking open and weeping.  It didn't even occur to me that it would be a cold sore as I've never had them before and not knowing what the symptoms were I was constantly picking at it.  Lipstick covered it well up until this morning when I woke up, and saw that it was really sore, itchy and angry.  I decided to nip over to the chemist.  I told her what I'd done, and she said it probably was a spot, everyone carries the virus, it just lies dormant until something triggers it, and me trying to pop it and constantly touching it, has probably done just that.  :FF :FF :FF :FF :FF.  She suggested Aciclovir 5% cream, which is apparently the same as Zovirax, so hoping it goes away in a few days, and that I don't get another break out.  However looking at this thread, the likelyhood of it been a one off seems pretty slim.

I'm praying like mad that I've not passed it on to my hubby over the weekend, and I've now had to message my bookings this week to tell them I've got a cold sore, and if they want to see me there will be no kissing or oral bothways, just massage or S&M.     Totally gutted.
