The worst are the ones who have just had a smelly lunch, a fag or coffee.  Yuck.

I tell them to use mouthwash.  I always have bottles of water and a couple of glasses in the room and a bowl of mints.

It is amazing how much difference just having a drink of water can make to a clients breath, I'd say about 75% of the dodgy breath people are 'cured' once they have had some water.

And I must admit that I just tell them that their breath needs a little freshening up.  But obviously if their dental hygiene leaves a lot to be desired I will not kiss them or let them give me oral.

I did once have a client who only had a stump of his lower front tooth left in his mouth.  He was shocked when I wouldn't kiss him!  He wasn't that old either.  He said he hated dentists, and I said so did I and that was why I wasn't going to let him put his mouth anywhere near me.  I still shudder when I think about him.

In response to Emily & Amika; of course I know to click on a link!! I checked on ebay for dams first because I thought they were an american thing...having only heard of them through american programmes! I've being going to my local sexual health clinic for over ten years & they've never been mentioned to me. Yes google is fantastic, I use it everyday.

I came on this forum for support & advice not to be patronised by "burned out moderators" and women with superiority complexes!

Ok, thought I was giving you the benefit of the doubt there ???. I still don't get why you didn't click on the links I gave you, but whatever. If you do want non-latex dams I'll say again: have a look at the links in this post, what you're looking for is there and you'll only have to waste about three minutes of your life getting it. I really can't do much more than I've already done to help you.

yes thanks for the links,  I did check them yesterday AFTER I posted about the latex allergy.

Here's a relly useful site;

www.freedoms-shop.nhs.uk

they have latex & non latex dams & other condoms at really good prices, I was paying more for mine until a friend told me about this.

Search engines don't come up with it when I typed non latex condoms.

Where are the dams? I checked that shop but didn't link to it because I didn't see any.

Here

http://www.freedoms-shop.nhs.uk/shop/product/search/?search=dams

I couldn't find any there the other day either.

They only do the Pasante ones which you said were quite small though.
Let go of my ears! I know what I'm doing!

Yeah, ex-work used to get them from a similar source.

You could be better off using clingfilm, which is vastly cheaper and you can have the size you like.

'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."
