Clients taking the pi**

So had a regular client last week, when his time was up he was like we’ll go again. I says oh time is up, by the time we have a rest, quick chat and shower that can take up to a good 20mins over as it is.

It makes me feel bad and often offends the client when I say we’re out of time. I just use the excuse that I have another booking very soon.

What other ideas do you ladies have that I can say?

OP, you don't need to censor words here? You can even put cunt (not that it would make sense in this context).

I start winding things up with a few minutes to go anyway, but if it really isn't sinking in then physically getting up, putting on a robe and starting to tidy up usually gets them moving. If they want a shower and they're over already I tell them either no, or that they'll need to be no more than a couple of minutes (and if they have form for pissing about I'll ask them if they want a shower with ten minutes to go).

Saying you have another punter arriving soon is ideal - the idea of being seen seems to terrify them. You can also pull a face and tell them that you desperately need a poo.

Tell them if they want the time to go again then they need to book a longer session or they can extend their booking at xxx  cost.

I've recently had to come down hard on a client who is a shower monster,  he pushes round 2 and keeps it going right to the very last min of a booking and then wants a shower,  issue is he can be in there well over 10 mins, so I've warned him he gets 3 mins physically in the shower and when that 3 mins is up I will turn off the electric supply at the fuse box.
Amazingly he's been in and our in under those 3 mins since I warned him, believe me these guys are taking the piss just to see what they can get for free.

I also think they do it sometimes because they have a touch of EAS and they justify their feelings in their own heads because they kid themselves you go over time or be lax with shower time and after booking chatting because you like them too.

I've encountered it all, I do use the getting up and robe method but still occasionally have some lie or sit staring into space. Also the slow dressers.

Regards the last paragraph I had a regular who would stand in the doorway back to the opening door talking even in winter whilst I stood naked in my robe - for half an hour. He turned out to have emotional attachment syndrome (EAS), with hindsight I should have taken action early on, but he was so subtle and 'nice but cost me a lot of mental energy a well as potential  earnings/clients who would not have taken a disproportionate amount of my time for what was a reduced fee.

Can somebody enlighten those of us who have no idea what 'EAS' is, or how/why somebody would have it? Google isn't helpful (unless we actually are talking about an emergency alert system or a European astronomy group).

Right (and thank you KMC). Since this isn't a widely used industry term and looking at the posters I'm pretty sure where it's come from, back to the thread and apologies for derailing :)

This is why I much prefer very early bookings (sometimes as early as 630/7am), as the punters are generally seeing me before work, so don’t have the time to hang around!

Yes the overhanger I described would book the latest time on a Saturday night, and like to book around my birthday, Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, any public or significant day. I used to tell him "I do have to get up early in the morning"...he also overran when I had advised I was meeting friends for a late show event - absolute truth and I had given him extra time off the clock that evening because he really wanted to cook for me. Yes stupidly I thought if I let him arrive hours earlier to cook a meal for me something he had been keen to do for a long time, he might actually recognise that extra time and leave on time. I was such an idiot.

I have had other examples of clients/punters taking the P, but I will never let something go like that again. In my defence I actually felt 'groomed', and this was in a vulnerable time of my life too.

I made it clear I was doing him a favor.

The session was an hour, of course - what he paid for. And then he left a review on some PUNTER site saying he felt rushed.
I still resent that!

In all the years, I personally make sure I have more than an hour to accommodate a one-hour session.

It's all these one-off BASTARDs who spoil it for everyone. I feel less inclined to make exceptions because people take the PISS.

I've had punters say they only have time for 30 minutes, arrive 15 minutes late then over run by another 15  minutes. I really appreciate those who are reliable, on time, leave on time without fuss. I do have a regular who does tend to chat after time leaves 20 minutes or so over but he is reliable, he rounds the fee up to the nearest £50, the one occasion he cancelled he paid me in full, and he brings lovely presents to almost every booking (things I actually want and like).

Yep I’ve gave them the full time they’ve paid for and let them have a shower in MY time but because I’ve wrapped up the booking on time (despite them showering In my time) they say they feel rushed wtaf!! All because they never got free extra time. Would they expect extra time from dentists, barbers, doctors etc? We’re running a business not a charity  :FF

If they don’t get any free extra time then we’re “clockwatchers” bloody ridiculous! We have to be aware of time as we’re running a business. Some think they can book x amount of time and stay around as long as they want! Not happening
