At the end of a pleasant booking this evening, my client who is a new one, was searching his pockets for his fone and produced a Stanley knife, put it on the bed and said oh sorry I didn't realize it was in my pocket, and its for my work, I calmly replied oh that's fine, he said I hope your not scared, I said nope too much cctv here for you to get away with anything silly ...Ushered him gone and locked the door..

Now I didn't feel scared, threatened or worried and he wasn't in the slightest bit scary, so what would you do as he said he will be back. I will in future ask him to show me the contents of his pocket or to please leave knives and anything else in his car, but ffs men!!!!

Would he be on your block list or would you see him again?

It wouldn't bother me overly (as opposed to something like a kitchen knife, say) as I'd consider it an everyday object and lots of people carry a penknife of some kind. If a punter was determined to hurt me there are all sorts of ordinary objects he could do it with, although I'd probably ask he didn't bring it again, or left it in another room with his coat or whatever.

as you said you didnt feel scared and its the kind of thing that you would absent mindedly have on you if you are in certain lines of work. I think you would've felt different if you were getting dodgy vibes from him in the first place

That he had a pen knife in his pocket isn't weird, but that he had to draw your attention to it, and initiate a conversation about whether you were scared - that does worry me a bit. He'd not get in my door again, quite frankly. But seriously, why would he carry one? To cut himself free from a bear trap? Pick his nose with it? Cut his toe nails? Chop up the moose he caught for lunch? Unless you're an active gardener, frequently cutting twine etc. I don't see the need.

I woulda done the same thing as this guy to be honest as I would think "crap I got a knife around a prostitute I hope she doesnt think I'm going to murder her I better put her at ease!"

I know a lot of men carry pen knives or even bigger around for work. However he did not need to get it out of his pocket nor did he need to ask if you were scared. Both would have been a big no no and he would have been told to leave asap and I would block any further contact from him. The moment he stuck his hand in his pocket he knew the knife was there so did not need to get it out at all. If you had been a police officer and not an escort he would not have as he knows he would have been arrested as one can only carry a weapon for work if actually at work.
They are not allowed to carry them at any other time if the blade was a flick blade or 3" or more or if the blade can be locked or fixed into place which knives used for work need to be able to do and as can Stanley blades. No good if they close every time pressure is put on them so it would have been a fixable/locked blade. There was no need what so ever to get it out and put it on the bed other than to let you know he was carrying it. He would have felt that it was not his phone and could have just moved on to the next pocket.

He is either a very insensitive prick or he knew just what he was doing. Either way not someone I would want to see again, especially as he could have just left it in his car where it is supposed to be

An electrician or builder would have 'reasonable cause' to carry a stanley at any time during a working day and if always kept on person instead of a box it would be classed as 'reasonable' to carry it in to shops/offices/appointment places during breaks in the day.
