i just loaded this fourum tonight expecting for ladies who i have supported in my other posts to support me, as to be honest i feel this website is fantastic and i feel that i have been totaly victomised here.

just to clarify i never said i claimed benifits, in fact agein just so you know i have NEVER claimed benifits in my whole entire life, EVER! I dont pay tax,i live purly off my webcaming income.  this mainly is because im an idiot, and and also because i suffer from anxity and depreshion and i felt terably embarrised by telling people i am an online performer.

Not that i feel i have to justify myself i also am a mental health co ocrfinator for a charity for over 17 hours a week and support those thugh a 12 step program how to approach there mental health problam. So i do feel i have pay my fair share to socity - one of the first steps of advice i pass on is to talk to like minded non judgmental people who understand whatever situation your in which i thought i was dooing here befor my apparent witch hunt, gives me great confadence in the future thanks ladies.

i am 100% sure that i am not the only lady here who does not understand or pay tax but i feel you prpbably have put a hell of a lot of people off who come forword.

Lucy

Lucy I apologize if I have upset you in any way. This is by no means a witch hunt and I obviously misunderstood that you have never been on benefits but it wasn't too clear in your first post.  I assume then that at some time you have been employed in some kind of occupation as at age 23 you must be in the system somewhere, either as a tax payer or whatever. You must have an NI number.
HMRC want to know how we support ourselves, whether that is through state benefits (in which case they have no need to contact us)
or through PAYE (being employed by a firm or other person) or as a self employed person.

It is a lovely thought to earn loads of cash and not pay tax and webcamming is a great way to do that if you really enjoy it, but it is
still an income and although I am not daft in that the majority of girls webcamming will not declare the money, in all fairness to those of us who do pay tax then it (or some of it!  ;) ) should be declared.

The father of your child is also responsible to help support you.

I sincerely hope your situation gets sorted out in the best possible way for you.

I have recently had to search for an accountant due to my other business taking an unexpected turn and yes it can be a minefield, but in saying that, my own personal findings are:

HMRC themselves are brilliant for generic advice and even went as far as to give me a list of things I need to discuss with an accountant.
Barclays business account (free for the first 18? months) offers as part of the deal an initial free meet with an accountant.
There are many many fixed price or per hour accountancy services out there, give both types a call and as they usually want your business will advise you what they think is best and why.

As for finding one, after a lot of googling and asking about, I found this site http://www.icaewfirms.co.uk/ which gave me a list of firms to choose from, after a lot of calls later, I have now hopefully found what I need with a couple in reserve in case things dont work out.

if you are self employed  you have to pay your stamp or if you don't earn enough then you get an exemption certificate  which means your stamp is being paid for you while you earn under the threshold

This is how people get caught on benefit signing on and working ect because your stamp is being paid twice once because your signing on  2 by your employer  ( if they are legit )

your problem Lucy is because you have not been declaring your income  and your not registered as self employed  no stamp (ni ) has been paid  so you have no contributions so can't claim anything in theory

however those contributions are for jsa  and  not for income support  so even though you get told you can't claim jsa    you can claim income support which is the same amount   crazy yes but it the governments way of massaging the figure for the unemployed    however there are certain condition with claiming income support and you might not be able to claim it until your a few months pregnant

So If you had been paying tax and ni  you would claim jsa  which then because your pregnant you would go on to income support  ect

if you can't get  maternity pay you  would apply for  income support ( or whatever the fuck its called now )

this  you would go for this because you can't work because your pregnant  well you can but  employers won't employee pregnant women  not matter what the rules and laws say

the only thing i think you do is to  now set yourself  up as self employed  ( you can back date it three months
carry on working /webcamming and pay the relevant taxes for this period  when you are 7 months pregnant you can then see about closing your books and claiming income support

what did you do before you were webcaming  i.e. work wise  when was the last time you were actually in work paying taxes ect  as this could be a problem as they might want to know what you have been living off over this period of time
this happened to a friend of recently she got round it by saying that she had been abroad and then her boyfriend was supporting her and they had then split it

i would also open up a new bank account for your welcoming stuff / and any related   benefits and keep it all separate and keep good accounts ect

Once you have baby you would then be entitled to  housing benefit  income support child tax credits ect
but this is all changing over the next few years with the universal credit thing

Best of luck
