Some good points xw5, thank you!
I was thinking of offering it to longer term regs for the longer meetings.

Why not just do bank transfer? You don’t need to tell them your legal name to do a bank transfer. I tell my clients to set me up as whatever name looks best on their bank statement eg John Smith and to just ignore the warning message that the name doesn’t match. I’ve had no problems with this with my Lloyds account.
However I will mention that the online/app type banks such as Monzo, Starling are not good for this method as they will reveal the real name on your account but the main high street banks like Lloyds, NatWest etc are find using this method.

You can also set up a business account in a discreet name and use that.

I believe it’s much safer this way and no card payment fees

I have thought about having a card payment option as I think it would be handy but the chargeback issue has stopped me. I worked in finance and dealt with £££‘a being returned in chargebacks and it’s so hard to get it back and as escorts we would definitely struggle. The only thing we could do is contact the client stating it is considered rape if the agreement on which consent was given has been retracted and that may make them think twice but if someone does a chargeback I don’t think they’d give a crap. Also they can do a charge back up to 4 months later so we’d have to keep on top of who is who.
Just seems another worry I don’t need so I stick to bank transfer or cash

Me too. I even got as far as buying one of the Square machines, and it's still in its box; thankfully there are a lot of ATMs near me so it's easy for punters to get cash than it might be out in the sticks.

We could try this as a bluff, but any punter with even the scantest knowledge of the law would know it was bollocks and the rest could just look it up (and like you say, if they're prepared to steal they probably wouldn't care even if it was true). Until there's a solution I'll also be sticking with cash :)

The town I moved to over 5 years ago had 4 banks, next year the last bank will close. I accept bank transfer for deposits and some punters/clients pay their entire fee that way. Cash I have one account I can pay into at the PO, but still have to get to nearest bank branch for another account because I've paid in more than 10K cash in the last 12 months. A 3rd bank banked with for a long time got upset when I started paying cash in (had stopped paying cash into that account about 10 yrs ago to simplify my accounting, I suspect the sudden change in pattern sparked the alert).
