Hey all,

I’m from London and a client from another city in the UK has made a booking for me to meet him next week for 2.5 hours in his city. He paid deposit and extra for me to book a hotel for us to meet on the day. Is it wrong if I use the other hours to see other clients? Maybe it would look a bit cheeky of me …

Definitely make the most of it and book in a few extra client's. He is only paying for a couple of hours of your time plus the hotel.
So I would use the rest of my time wisely and get that money hunni 💖💖

I would definitely work especially if the hotel is booked for one night.

If you've booked the hotel.room then it's yours, not his. I'd definitely be making the most of it, which I likely wouldn't risk if the booking was on the punters card in case some idiot damaged or nicked something.

Especially if you are looking at seeing someone else after this client rather than before them, go for it.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

It’s your room and he is only paying for 2.5 hours. He can’t expect you to just sit around for the rest of the day passing up work. As long as everything is nice for him during his appointment the rest of the time is yours. Make the most of it.

Depends on your way of working if it was me and travel significant I would have already charged extra for the travel, I only take 1 max 2 bookings per day so would be straight back home or on to do something else.

Some clients who paid me to book hotel rooms explicitly invited me to use it afterwards either for myself, or for other bookings.

Thanks for your replies.

It’s tomorrow and I’m still thinking about it. He sent me money to book the hotel on my card because he’s married and wants to be discreet. I guess I feel bad because he’s paying double and a bit more than my normal rate for me to see him in his city. The only reason I’m really going there is because his offer was very generous. I’m worried I will be looking greedy. He’s tried to book me for months but didn’t work out. He gives me overly keen vibes but nothing dangerous or worrying. Mahbe I will just turn on my availability after he leaves his booking.
