It's not clear from your post what you think you could be charged with - what are your neigbours trying to 'prove'? It really depends on whether or not you were breaking the law (providing a place for others to work, even occasionally could get you saddled with brothel keeping charges, for example) but there isn't anything I can think of that specifically would relate to Adultwork and working as a prostitute is not illegal.

Have you been told what you are supposed to be 'guilty' of, or on what grounds they have contacted the police? If you are making a lot of noise at night, say?

If you are working alone and indoors, there is no legal issue - if you are in Forces accommodation though I suspect it might get tricky (and hopefully somebody else will know more about this than I do), but it's still not a matter for the police unless you are causing some kind of nuisance. I honestly wouldn't worry about that part of it, at least.

If it's the police themselves who have told you they are running an investigation, ask them what it is about, which offence they suspect has been committed, when, and by whom. If it's anybody else, they probably know nothing whatsoever about the law relating to prostitution and are likely just trying to scare you into stopping. Either way, you're not breaking the law .
