Hi, sorry to dredge up an older thread but I have had a message from my landlord saying that the managing director is attending a home visit to ensure my safety and wellbeing. I have a suspicion its about my work but I don't work from home or have clients here. I am face out but I've been showing as outcall only for a while anyway. Should I be worried?

Unless you have been VERY obvious about your escorting activities (eg: traffic of men in and out, neighbours noticing etc...), your face is blatantly  showing on the ads, a vindictive ex has decided to play a number on you (or a client?) if none of these possibilities apply to you then I would just wouldn't worry because it sounds like some annual routine inspection.

Personally, I’ve been in the position where my letting agent and the home owner arranged to visit me on my flat inspection - they were more concerned with the condition of flat, any repairs that may have needed done. Is it possibly just an inspection that most landlords carry out regularly? As has been said if you’re not working from home and the rent/bills are being paid then I think you’ll be okay.

Landlords or agents do checks on the premises every now and again to make sure the place is not smashed up etc but never heard of a well being check for you? Only thing they might do is boiler services, get a boiler checked to make sure is safe or check electrics is this what they mean?

Safety and wellbeing?? I would simply tell them you are an adult and you can take care of your own safety and wellbeing

I'd suspect that it's just clumsy wording and the safety checks are the legally required ones which mean sending somebody to come and test all the electrical appliances, plumbing/gas connections, boiler and so on; I've had them do mine (in two separate lots) at my flat twice in three years. Obviously your personal wellbeing and health are nothing to do with your landlord and their interest goes no further than the state of the flat.

If you're not doing incalls then you're unlikely to even be in breach of your lease, so I really wouldn't be concerned :)
