Can clients find our names through their work?
« on: 18 March 2017, 11:42:20 am »
Here's a question.
I have a client I saw twice. A young NHS intern.
First booking was ok. On the second booking he was extremely stressed. Started talking about his job, way too many details. Then started asking me questions about my job of course. I kept it generic while walking him to the door and as he said himself he knew he was being nosey I thought he understood me not being chatty.
He texted to book again. I texted back saying sure no problem as long as you stop asking all those questions. And there he goes texting back all offended saying he never asked any questions!
He ended on my block list.
But I'm asking myself, since he works in a big hospital that I visited 3 times can he find my name through my address? I'm going through my full paranoid period :(

Providing that you gave him generic answers I don't see how. And unless you gave him any specific details which means he can narrow down a search through countless records and archives, I don't see how. Also, would he really risk his career and prosecution (perhaps) all because he wants to find out your real name?
  Honestly, I wouldn't worry.

No. What I meant is what if he types the full detailed address (flat number and street number) into some database.
Yeah why would he and what do I care.

My friend is a receptionist for a drs and She  has to swipe her nhs card before she can access people's files. I doubt you can get away with just randomly searching for people without good reason and if he's not completely stupid knows the risk of loosing his job and breaking the law aren't worth it

He probably can and if he does it's likely to put his employment at risk.

I have friends in public service (some police, some firefighters) and any time they log in to look up anything it's logged that they looked so they have to be very careful--have a valid reason for looking.  He'd be risking being written up at the least.

Deep breaths.  Sending you good thoughts!

He's clearly not fit enough to work on the NHS.  If you got his full name, you could have reported him.  Not joking.

It leaves a trail back to their ID (in this case NHS). Also there is system safeguards that don't allow for random searches.
If you go to the hospital, or you already have an appointment, or you need to make one, there will be a doctor assign to you he can access your files (not everyone in the building), the nurse can access relevant files for treatment, again, usually there will be a nurse or team assign to your case.

To be honest I would be much more worried it it was someone for IT (with proper skills), we never know with those guys...

Loads of my clients ask me questions, they are just curious, I doubt very much he would start searching for you on the NHS system, Remember we are in an industry where they don't know that many people and its kind of a taboo, so while they are with us, they ask questions out of curiosity, See I like the conversations its good for rapport, but fully understand the girls that dont like it, lets say for instance he had been to see someone like me, then a month later come to see you, because I am comfortable to answer questions, he may assume all girls do, so when you said about him asking too many questions he was probably baffled. We are all different, many clients dont realise this. I think its highly unlikely that he would risk his career to look at your files, dont worry x

Oh I would never report him. It's just that since I had my London pharmacist call me on my aw number I'm really paranoid.
I think my NHS guy is one of those nosey types. Tried to book again this eve but it was really out of my hours so I said no.
