To be honest I don't know.  This is my list of pros and cons.  Please feel free to add to it, disagree with it.

The arguments for an increase is business are:

The extra number of people in London for the Olympics.  Especially those who have tickets spaced out over the time that they are here.

The fact that regular Londoners will be on flexi-time/working from home will give them more time and/or excuses to get away.

Those who cannot take flexi time etc will have to work as normal but will be more stressed due to travel problems etc and will need pampering by a working girl.

The arguments against are:

The fact that most Londoners/commuters are being urged to work from home, book leave, work flexi time etc. So will their other half/family. So regulars will be few on the ground.  Those who are not allowed to do so will be stressed with their workloads and travel etc.

The Olympics take place during the school 6 week holidays so will people be taking advantage of this to go on holiday themeselves?

Most people will be travelling with family.  Unlike the football world cup where business would pick up, due to the macho effect ie mostly male fans, the Olympics are a family event.

The tickets allow you do hang around the Olympic park all day, whereas the football/other sports tend to be for a few hours, with loads of free time.

More competition because everyone thinks it will be a goldmine.

Hotel rooms are already booked up and very expensive. So unless you have an incall place touring will be very expensive.

Just like the Euros people will be trying to watch as much as they can on telly.  Plus the big screens all around London.  And the pubs/bars have Olympic themed specials on.

And if people visiting London have free time during their visit there is so much to do in London.  It's not like whe major sporting events take place in small towns where there are limited attractions and everything closes at 5.

Police will be everywhere and places like Newham have already closed down brothels and cleaned up red light districts so I don't think they will take their foot of the pedal until it's all over.

to be honest  i dont think that the olympics will make a  huge difference  to most
Im visiting london just before it starts and then off on holiday

i noted that most of the good hotels are virtually all booked up in advance for most of august   and have doubled there prices

If it was a short 3 -4 day thing  like  Cheltenham or The  Ryder cup or  Six nations  then i think  it would be  worth it as you have a lot of people in for a short time, but as it going on for such a long time  i cant see it being worth the hassel not to mention the invetiable traffic and tube congestion

1 you live in london anyway
2 you can do incalls at your own place ect
3 your really into the olympics

There are so many escort in london anyway at any given time that with more arriving its only going to overkill what business  there is

Im visiting london just before it starts on the 22nd 25th which is a wed and it starts on a friday

I noted that most of the good hotels are virtually all booked up in advance for most of august   and have doubled there prices If not trippled them and want advance payment

If it was a short  2 -4 day thing  like  Cheltenham Races, Golf such as The  Ryder cup  Rugby ie Six Nations matches or a  Premire Football match which are all predominently patronised by men and then i think  it would prossibly be worth it as you have a lot of people in for a short time,

But as it going on for such a long time and in the school holidays,  i cant see it being worth the hassel not to mention the invetiable traffic and tube and train congestion  unless

1 you live in london anyway  so can do outcalls
2 you can do incalls at your own place ect
3 your really into the olympics

Places like  [removed - no free ads here :)] will probably do very well as they have a base and there price are reasonable anyway but anyone going in particular to make money might be dissapointed

There are so many escorts in london anyway at any given time that with more arriving its only going to overkill what business  there is probably driving the prices down rather than up

I can vouch for this - my regular hotel is well over ?300 per night, and has still been booked up for over 18 months (which is when I first asked them about it). I've just got back from London and will be there for the last ten days or so of August but it'll all be done by then bar the Paralympics which starts on the 29th.

If I was living down there and working (and I'll quickly plug Stop The Arrests, for anybody who hasn't seen/signed the petition to stop the persecution of sex workers in East London yet) the one thing I might do differently is stick an ad on Eros. It isn't cheap, but if a lot of folk are coming over from the States, it's a popular and well used site and never does me any harm in London even on a normal trip.

Raising rates for the Olympics?
« Reply #19 on: 01 August 2012, 12:03:44 am »
I have seen it quite a lot. I have even seen one girl who is openly saying her prices are the same as before but they are actually an extra ?30. What's the point in lying about it when it's clearly obvious?

Is anyone here rasing their rates for the Olympics?

Poppy, please don't shout - there's no need to post in all caps and it's against the forum rules.

If you read the thread, you will see that it's a joke, based upon the bigoted view expressed by the previous poster (which she then spotted for herself). Humour is something we occasionally lay claim to in the North of England :).

I have actually raised my prices for the Olympic period, and I've been as busy as hell  :o I thought it would be entirely dead, but I've been pleasantly surprised....
