Anybody heard of adultsearch.com?
« on: 03 August 2012, 11:58:19 pm »
They keep cold calling me offering a 14 pound special monthly trial. I've taken a look at their site and it's huge. Looks like a US site that it's trying to relaunch in Europe. Anybody used it? Any good? How popular is this site in the US? What strikes me as odd is that whenever some famous US site relaunches for the first time in Europe (backpage, EROS, etc...)  they tend to offer a free trial during the first months to make sure that everybody runs to get listed and it's after a 3 month period when they start charging. Somehow these people seem entitled to start charging from the very begining before we've even heard of them!

maybe I'm letting the "oportunity of my life" pass by by not getting listed. Who knows. Any feedback would be highly apreciated (specially from our Americans friends).

This lot added me then got (a) my details wrong and (b) put a duplicate in a different area and (c) the one in the correct area wasn't search able. I sent them some emails and they denied this, I had to send them links to show them. This had all come to my attention when a couple of guys phoned expecting me to be offering outcalls in Manchester. Ok I do travel there for longer bookings, but this made out I was there already. When I said I wasn't and it was wrong I got the usual "Well it says here......"

So they sorted it out and I carried on with the free trial, although the nearest place they can put me is still a 1 hour drive away, so almost as bad ::). Just had an email to inform my my ads dropped off and click this link to reactivate it. When you follow the link there's a whole load of different paid-for options. The most basic has $1.99 next to it but doesn't say how long this is for. So I've not gone any further - could be for 1 day, or 1 year who knows.

The other thing for those in the UK it doesn't have the option to state rates in any other currency than $. Bit daft if you are trying to get UK advertisers. I've explained in my blurb that prices are pounds sterling, that the site doesn't have the option for this currency, but still if they have UK locations in their database they should really also have a ? option too.

They almost got me with the free trial, but when I received the link to "activate the listing" its asking for card/bank details and again, everything was in $ and not ? so didn't bother going any further.
