Do most bookings come from .........advanced bookings or on the day ?? thanks girls
-
on the day. Only once in a blue moon do I get an advance booking that actually shows.
I think it depends where you work in the country and if you are KNOWN to only do advance bookings.
-
I do outcalls only in Greater Manchester and I'm probably 70% advance (2 days to a week) and 30% short notice.
-
I get about half and half but some days its all advance bookings and some days its all on the day, also half and half aw V website/directories

I only offer short notice/immediate bookings, as in my experience, clients cancel less than 1% of the time when they will see you within the hour, as they genuinely want to see you right away. Whereas advance bookings often cancel as they book you thinking they can just not show if they change their mind, or cancel later. That's just my experience - many do it differently. But most (90%) of my advance bookings cancel.

Should mention I'm outcall only so I show up for immediate bookings whether they like it or not ;D

I find the drop out rates for same day and advance bookings are equal at around 50%. I offer quite a range of flexible hours which tends to suit the clients I see, and so I can plan other things do prefer advance bookings with early confirmation times. When I had a late confirmation too many were leaving it til the last minute to tell me they weren't coming, so unless I know the person well I am strict on this. Many clients also plan their travel in advance, so same day also isn't suitable for them and I therefore tend to prefer advance bookings, which also gives me a good idea which days/hours to work/days/hours to have as time off as well as my other inflexible stuff.

Many are on the day bookings as not all can plan in advance. Clients are known to book more when they are horny than not.

Half and half really for me. For me its mainly a day in advance which suits me well enough now I'm back on just outcalls. When I did incalls if I had no bookings and one came in for in the next hour or two and all I needed to do was shower and change clothes I'd take it.

I do get some advance bookings. I require confirmation in the morning of the day. I may text to ask if they're still keen but until I hear that morning that they're still intending to come, I don't really consider it a real booking.

Summing up, different people have different preferences, different ways of working, and different experiences for this.
Once someone is established, it can be easier to have more reliable advanced bookings, but even then some people prefer to work on a 'on the day' basis. For one thing, it means you don't feel you have to work on any day you don't want to. Others prefer to know when there is a demand and work around that.
