booking a hotel room for a day
« on: 24 August 2011, 10:29:36 am »
Hi again-
Like Cat_BBW I was planning to book a hotel room for a day in my own city as I don't do incalls, otherwise. I've added a tab with info and a prompt to be in touch for more information. I haven't gotten a single nibble... It's still 5 days away (my proposed date) but I'm wondering when I should give up the idea?

I am new and don't have a big client list. I was hoping to increase it with this and then maybe make it a monthly thing. Do you all think it's worth it to take a chance and book the room (with a reasonable price in advance) hoping that someone actually bites? Or do you think I should wait until I've been around a bit longer and actually have a stock of followers officially requesting incalls?
Thanks again-
T

Add it to the landing page as a *NEWSFLASH* or *UPDATE* with *INCALLS* highlighted, then say you will be offering incalls from your hotel room in XXX location on XXX date and to call you or message to register their interest or make a booking. Put it more succinctly than that though :D

It needs to be the first thing they see when landing on your profile (after looking at the pretty pics, of course ;D )

I'm still quite new to this and as yet don't have a regular client base however,  I have been booking hotel rooms on a regular basis since I started(as I don't have anywhere permenant to work from for incalls), and waiting until the very day to see how the day will pan out with bookings.  I have made sure I've booked a room that I can cancel at short notice without incurring a fee should I not have any response on the day in question.  I have only had to cancel a room the once.  I've found that most guys will leave it until the day before or early morning on the day to book, so it's worth hanging in there for the moment.

I know its different in different cites, but what I found in Glasgow was this.  I'd recently moved there, staying with a friend who doesn't know what I do.  So no regular clients... So I booked a hotel room (giving her a cover story!) and although I got a couple of advance bookings, the vast majority were on the day or short notice.

Its completely up to you if you want to risk it; I just put very clearly at the start of my profile the exact dates I'd be there, I also blogged about it too.

hope this is helpful.

Vitually all my bookings are same day   some guys will book in advance but  genreally 90 percent will book on the day with short notice

if you book an ibis or a jurys you can get in at 12  which can make a huge difference
also  i put on a special offer ie  2hours 200 for the first day if booked in advance  ect and this is pretty popular and often  encourages advance bookings

I get many more enquiries for same-day bookings than for advance booking.  It's a bloody pain because you can't plan things.  I would say go for it (if you can afford the loss, just in case you don't get a punter) - and advertise it loud and clear.  Some days you might not get lucky, other days you'll be inundated - it's the nature of the business  :-\

I would say that 20% of advance bookings TURN UP.  I take advance bookings with a pinch of salt.

Just advertise hard and go somewhere you want to visit.  If no one turns up at least you can do some sightseeing.

And I find that 99.9% do, PROVIDED they have confirmed on the day - I get very few who don't confirm, but they've lost their appointment by ten am if I haven't heard from them. I've agreed to two short notice same day incalls (within the next couple of hours) in the last month and I was so sure neither would turn up I didn't even bother getting ready. I was right, too.

I do agree about going somewhere nice though - I've come home early from a couple of places as soon as I'd covered my costs because they were such dumps.

That's the plan for the actual tour...but this is an excuse to do incalls in my home city. I think I'd feel better if someone would at least express INTEREST.

It's a bummer isn't it.

We all have different experiences work wise, depending on age, figure, area of the country, any number of variables.  The only thing we can say with certainty is that business has slowed up and we can no longer count on client's coming out of our ears, (or any where else, lol).

For a local hotel, get a cheap one and hope for the best.  If you do not do it you can guarantee you WON'T get a job.  Don't forget to put the green light on your AW profile.  If I do not put it on I never get any calls,  (when it is on the gallery pays for it in extra views).

Best of luck.

My experience is that about 80 per cent turn up. 20 per cent either don't turn up or cancel on the day. I have learned not to accept bookings from guys asking for particular outfits or specific items such as red shoes, white lingerie etc. They almost always don't show. Every time I get a request I explain why I won't accept the request and assure them that I will be looking very sexy! I have only ever had one guy who had a problem with that. Unless I know them of course, that's a different matter.

I used to do this (usually for three days) and only the keenest regulars would book more than a week in advance, with most bookings coming in the day before or while I was at the hotel. If I was doing it now I'd wait a couple of weeks until the kids are back at school, but if you don't mind giving it a try that's fine.

Since I was doing the hotel thing a few times a year I had a mailing list for anyone who wanted to know when one was coming up. I think most of my incall bookings came from there, so I'd recommend setting one up for the future if you're going to do it again.
