Oh god mine too, I would feel so bad if someone took the time to travel to me and I was like yeah someone else arrived 1st you will need to wait an hour or whatever

My friend does often have more than one client turn up at a time but she does tell them to just come over but that someone else is on the way and she will see whoever arrives first.
I'm so tight on my confirmations that I know if they're not going to show. I often have a reserve list too. I would be rocking in a corner with a straightjacket if I did first come first served.

so true I could never work like that, I like to not have a gaggle of men hanging outside my incall that's disturbing

I prefer booking in advance but still got timewasters not showing up despite their arrangements

so now it's those who call up and arrange a time on the day .

That's how I work. I don't take bookings before the day because most of them cancel and this includes bookings through AW, so much so that I actually discourage them now.

I'll allow bookings the day before, but that's as early as it gets and everybody still has to confirm in the morning, even if I've known them ten years. I do let regulars book slightly further ahead if they're reliable, but not much.

I decided last week to ditch the AW email system altogether; since we can't disable the bloody messages I've changed my profile text and autoreply to tell them that all emails will be deleted unread and they need to text me or call (it already said something similar, but also that I'd reply to their email when I had time).

Since 99% of the emails result in sweet FA and the remaining 1% are not generally punters I would miss, I'm not doing any more unpaid admin and I plan to just go on once a week so and dump the lot. It's done my sanity the world of good

First come first served can work really nicely if you have someone taking the calls and there's somewhere they can wait. That's my parlour experience. I don't know if I would have the balls to try and handle that on my own!
Working by myself I only go by appointments. If someone says he is literally ten minutes away and there's nothing else in my book I will tell him to come along. Otherwise I'll let people know what times are available and try to judge how serious he is. If I'm getting a few calls that day I will tell the iffy folk to call back so I can let them know etc etc The decent prospects get booked straight in. That way you have a B list

I bought myself a hairdresser appointment book that is separated in to 15 min slots. I take lots of pre-bookings and on the day bookings too. thankfully I don't usually get many cancellations and most cancel in advance so I have time to fill their slot if need be. Years ago I used to overbook where I did half hour bookings where someone arrived at 5pm and Id have the next guy booked in at 5.15 but it was no good for my reputation or health so I stopped doing it.
