I dont have to take a survey to know that many of us are probably single, correct me if I'm wrong! But apart from the time of year it is, I am starting to feel like I want to atleast have a date! At this point, I have no set plans for the New Year with anyone nor do I for Christmas. This isnt the 1st time, and in fact I dont think I've ever at this time of year!

So, how do you cope with the odd rush of wanting to be serious with someone outside of work? Lately, I tried dating a couple of men but they turned out to not want anything serious, which just reinforced my reasons of not really wanting to date these days. I enjoy escorting, but before I escorted, I was the 'mono' type. May just be my personality. The thought of a long-term relationship doesnt appeal to me much at this time as I'm going to start traveling and touring different areas, but advances of a 1 night stand is like another day on the job!

Yep been there myself hun and nothing brings out the feeling that you would like to be with someone more than xmas time does (even though deep down we all probably know there is more to life)

Maybye you would feel better if you finalised some plans for what you are going to do xmas and new year? then at least you would know what was happening and it might help you feel a bit more positive. You really shouldnt be alone at this time of year unless its unavoidable,being around people will make you feel so much better.

It is hard and horrible to be alone at this time of year. I am finding myself going in to panic mode as soon as i hear people at work start the 'what you doing this year' kind of conversations. I dont think there is a secret formula of how to get through it except maybe just put it in to context.... its just one day, 24 hours and then its all over and back to normal. It can be a bloody long 24hrs but thats all it is.

I dont know why but i always find fireworks night the most lonely. I think its because it doesnt feel right standing in the cold all wrapped up ohhhhing and ahhhhing at the sky unless there are some big strong arms and a warm breath in your ear. Lucily this year it rained so me and my mate sat in the pub instead.

Christmas is not just one day though, is it?
It is one whole week.

It's from Christmas Eve to New Years Day and I personally find New Years Eve the hardest night to get through. Christmas is easy compared to that.
You can keep yourself occupied on the day itself and the days after really with Tv. New Years Eve has always been a toughie for me, it's got easier the last 2/3 years but the whole world looks as if it's having a ball and somebody forgot to ask me along. That's how New Years Eve feels some years.
I am looking forward to a quiet one this year, it's actually what I want, to stay in, in some scruffy dressing gown with a beer and a film and not have to get dressed up and go out anywhere.
It's odd how getting dressed up and going out looses it's appeal once you dress up and go out for a living, how fab the thought of a scruffy old dressing gown and a night in front of the Tv with a film and some cheesecake actually sounds! Now that sounds like a brilliant New Years Eve.

If anybody is on their own this Christmas and is feeling it, I am sure you can come here and others will be about. And I always think that the ones you think are having just the best time, well, reality is often far different isn't it?
There is a lot to be said for living alone and answering to nobody but yourself.
Ha, anyhow, don't worry about it - the Easter Eggs will be in the shops soon!

I have to say I agree with Joanna on this because alas, Christmas isnt just one day but on the contrary 1 full week! The official 'Holidays' in my book starts from Christmas Eve up until the day after New Years. Thats 7 whole days, which to me seems like 7 Saturday nights! Usually I have offers for plans by this time, but with me moving around, it hasnt happened.

Its easier when you plan to be snuggled at home alone (which I couldnt bear the thought of it) on a major holiday evening. But if you're anything like me, you're kind of anxious to see where the next party's going to be at.

I wont make such a big deal this year, because if I dont end up with plans it will only give me chance to take some calls. Although, I'd much rather be parTAYing!

Some years I have had some brilliant New Years Eve celebrations. The loneliest times were, it has to be said, when in a long term relationship.

This time I had a bright idea for New Years Eve that suited me, so I took the bull by the horns, set about doing it and fingers crossed it should be ok. What I've done is advertise my Escort availability for one regular gentleman who's interested and doesn't have plans for this one evening that has so much importance put on it. I wasn't sure what the response would be but I was pleasantly surprised with more than one gent interested and a few others which have messaged me to say they wish it could have been them if they had been available. So I feel good now I've had a bit of a boost and, fingers crossed, I will be having a nice evening on New Years Eve with a nice gent who's pleased that now he won't be seeing it in alone.

I'm sure this idea wouldn't suit everyone but if you like the sound of it then give it a go.

I wish I had a solution for Christmas for you JoeyR. I'm sure there's going to be some brilliant ideas from some people but all I can think of is; put your trimmings up for You and perhaps get involved with some Christmas festivities by offering yourself as help at a charitable Christmas do. If I hadn't have done this idea for New Years Eve I was going to offer myself for work (regardless of pay) at a pub/club, just to enjoy it with others. My advert was for any regular gent (I hadn't a clue who might respond) who wanted to see New Years Eve in with me. Because I've said it's all sorted I've probably now jinxed it though knowing my luck! $:-\$

I thought Christmas would be a 'wash-out' and New Years great, But now its the other way around. Christmas was great and New Years sucks! Its 40 minutes till 12 right now and I got stood up twice tonight by 2 different friends

Oh well, maybe something will come up but right now Im so fucking mad right now. Im so frustrated my head hurts. Oh well, I'd only get drunk and fucked up to the point where I dont remember shit so what the hell does it matter anyway

fuck!!!! why did I go shopping the day after christmas instead of buying that last minute plane ticket to Orlando! Ahhhhh

I guess if I look on the bright side this is the 1st time in 4 years I've spent New Years at home. And I dont even remember what I did 4 years ago!

I ended up having a good day today. I thought I'd brave the cold and the crowd and and go and see what was left in the sales in OXford St.
Well, the crowds weren't as bad as I thought they would be, I got some good bargains in Debenhams with my ?50 Christmas gift card and I ended up taking an hour's booking that lasted all of 15 minutes. I tried to get him to stay but he had other things to be getting on with. It was a good stroke of luck being in the West End, I tell you.

its all about location! Thats why I cant wait to start traveling next month!

Oh...and how about one of my friends didnt stand me up tonight, what happened was apparently he was texting me, but his text werent getting through to my phone. I ended up getting 6 late texts, back to back at 5 am this morning from him. New Year's tends to knock out the signal as the whole world is texting! Another reason not to engage in text!
