No, I'm not remotely squeamish (and after some of the jobs I've had over the years if I ever had been, I wouldn't be now ). I prefer not to touch gross stuff directly when there's no need; I don't go and bleach my hands or set myself on fire if I do have to, but knotting condoms that are going to be contained inside a sealed/knotted bag and then a tied bin bag isn't necessary.

Washing my hands is the first thing I do after (sometimes before) they leave regardless of what I did or didn't get on them, and certainly before I touch my hair or my civvy clothes. I have no difficulty picking up dogshit either, but I wouldn't do it without a bag.

When I’m in hotels, if I didn’t tie off the condoms, the smell would be overpowering by the end of four days or whatever.

I put condoms, wipes, inside a nappy sack then a carrier bag.  It smells bad enough by the end.

When I’m in an apartment it isn’t an issue as I can use a bin in the kitchen then get rid of it outside.
