Just wondering if anyone is still seeing any of the old 'Elgar' ?20 notes that stopped being issued a year last June/July. I accepted them for a short time afterwards, since I know most banks were still letting you pay them in. I was offered some of them the other week, and was a little wary of taking them so asked my client to obtain new notes. It did mean the appointment had to be cut short, but I was a little scared of having problems at the bank.
I have since asked and my bank will accept them if they are being paid into an account, they won't however exchange them and of course most shops won't touch them with a bargepole.
