You can have hair removed permanently by laser treatment but it is expensive and painful too. I'm not sure but I think it also only works properly on dark hair.

The best tip I've ever had for shaving was to use hair conditioner - it works too!

I have absolutly no authority on this as I am sparse in growth.

Without going into detail, I do have bodily hair, but very little, for instance I have no underarm hair, never have done and the hair on my legs is so sparse, that eventhough it is black you don't notice it unless you get really close up. I know you all hate me now  ;D.

The only trouble I have is around my mouth and on my eyelids, if I don't tweez regularly my eybrows reach my eyelashes., not a good look. ::)

So sorry Lexie, but I have heard epilady is supposed to work well. Or maybe you should offer it as extra for your clients to do?  ;)

You're right I do  ;D  I waxed for ages, the places where I waxed most frequently grow back much slower, but I get 5 o'clock shadow pretty fast so literally have to shave every single day. I'd laser if it was cheaper, and even waxing adds up in a big way so I think I'm stuck with the razor. :(

Hair conditioner does work great for shaving, especially if you leave it on for a few minutes first, and exfoliate really really well beforehand and daily to avoid ingrowns. Nothing says s-e-x-y like that!

You can buy lazer hair removers for home use but they are very expensive to buy new, starting at around ?200. I use an epilator for now, but hope to get a lazer machine next month.  The epilator is fine as far as it goes, but I'm just that hairy!

I fear that i may have masochistic tendencies as i shave it all of and then any little 'stubbly' bits (especially in the creases of the thighs where they are hard to nick off properly with the razor get taken out with tweezers :o

I have a high pain threshold thankfully.

An escort friend of mine recommended Cuticura medicated talcum powder for after shaving and it works really well. You just put it on soon as you are done with the razor and its really soothing. It also helps to limit all the horrible bumpy rashes and itchy discomforts that shaving causes.

I don't find it too painful, escpecially when compared to razor cuts, but everyone's experience will be different.

I use an epilator. For me, the bikini line is the best use for it as I think the result there is much nicer than shaving and the area is so small that it doesn't really hurt at long as I'm keeping it up. It's no good for the labia though, I still have to shave that.

I think epilating would be worth a try for you, but it's something where starting off with a cheap and cheerful option isn't a good idea. The price is totally worth it if you find it works for you, but ?50 down the drain if it doesn't.

If you get yourself a decent epilator (silk epils are good, but don't worry about any of the precision attachments, they're pointless), you'll probably be able to use it two days after your last shave, although longer is better. You might find the first time too awful to finish, in which case do what you can and shave the rest. As long as you do it again within a fortnight you'll be making progress; I take three sessions to get back to the upkeep stage if I haven't epilated for a while.

Ditto the epilator, it's really good.

I have a faint memory of some fine sandpaper you could buy in Boots called a silkymit, that might work in between growth?

Oh, I think a Silkymit was my first form of hair removal. As far as I remember it was like shaving but a lot more work, and I sometimes rubbed too much skin off my legs so I wouldn't want to use it on more delicate skin.
