Being stopped going into US
« on: 06 October 2023, 01:53:03 pm »
Hey ladies I’m new here. Just joined  :)

I’ve looked over the posts and I can’t see anything about this subject.

I used to be quite active on Twitter and a few of the girls there said they had been stopped entering the US. One was detailed at the airport, questioned about why she was there and sent back to the Uk.

She was showed her AW profile and website and was told they knew she was an escort and was there to work. Therefore she needed a working Visa.

Has anyone else heard of this or had experience themselves?

If they had advertised on Eros for previous trips it's likely that their passport details are on record; I've been over since then, but I wasn't working. There's definitely something odd going on though; there is no such thing as a 'working visa' for prostitutes - prostitution is illegal in the US?

If you've never been before I wouldn't worry, assumimg you're planning a holiday. If you're planning to work, leave putting up ads until you arrive and be sensible about what you pack, wipe your phone first and think about how you'll explain/deal with the cash when you're coming back. You can back your phone up and put it back together again once you get there :)

How do they even know who you are? For AW you provide ID so I’m guessing AW passes the details on?  ???

The other thing you can do is fly from Dublin where they pre screen you before you leave. So when you arrive to America you don’t go through immigration just straight out.

Is it homeland security doing the screening in Dublin?

No, AW is virtually unknown in the US - as I said above, Eros requires passport scans so if somebody who has worked there previously has used it, it's it's likely to originate from there (there may be other sites, but Eros was the one that made the news). Twatter is also used in the US obviously, so banging on about working in X city on X dates on there if there's a link to your AW could be said to be really fucking stupid, unwise.

Yes it is. It makes it a lot quicker getting out at the other end (and you can fly from Shannon too), but security is the same. I used to go through with my work phone SIM glued in the back of my earring or sewn into my hair  :D

I now know who to blame if security want to rummage through my hair....
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Are Homeland security less intrusive in the questions they ask you if you go via Ireland.  I travel frequently to the States but luckily I don't have to take any work stuff with me.

I never found it particularly intrusive either side tbh, just timeconsuming having to wait. I only remember being asked the reason for my visit and even then not every time; I used to go maybe two or three times a year though, so not that often. Or maybe I'm just butt ugly :D.

I did have my suitcase tipped by TSA on the way back once, which I discovered when I wondered where my padlock had gone after taking it off the carousel and opened it to find a total fucking mess. Thankfully I had my cash on me, and I'm glad I did.

I don’t have any plans to go to the US but as soon as I heard it could be complicated I started to wonder how other people traveled safely.

I’d never go for any kind of work anyway just a holiday  :)

It will get "complicated" if you're a young single woman on a "long holiday"carrying a phone with a browsing history of sex directories, a twitter feed announcing your US tours and a suitcase full of lingerie (which is possibly what happened to those women on twitter),  US border patrol are very well trained to spot sex workers. Also: take with a pinch of salt what you read on Twatter.

A young woman that I know was stopped recently - she isn't a SW but is 22 and looks like she might be! She was never told why she was stopped but it took hours for them to check out her story and eventually let her through.

Yep. Young women "attractive' or flashy looking travelling alone for a "long holiday" seem to be a red flag nowadays when crossing borders (specially US), they tend to get stopped, questioned and unless there's a very very solid story will be turned away. It happened to someone I know first hand (non SW'er like your friend), she's a belly dancer travelling to the US without a "solid story" and a suitcase full of shiny costumes, she got turned back. A British girl I know (non SW'er too) was flying back to the UK after a fashion modelling gig in Germany, got stopped by German border patrol, they found out she had been working without permit and is not allowed back into the EU for ten years. Again: There's certain profiling amongst border agents, "young attractive women travelling alone" being one of them.

I'm not sure I can ever go to the US even for a holiday, because if they use facial recognition software my face could be easily found on the Internet due to my video content and that can be linked then to my aw profile.
It bothers me as I would like to go there sometime, never been
