Should I Panic??
« on: 30 July 2014, 07:42:24 pm »
I am trying to reach more clients and am in the process of setting up my own site BUT I also approached an agency who use mature ladies. They have been around for a long time and are well established with good reviews.

I sent my contact details and a photocopy of my passport as requested. I am professional by day and if my identity  is compromised in any way the repercussions would be horrendous!

I feel really stupid as all the info I've seen says NOT to do this. Do I tell the agency I've changed my mind and shred my details or am I worrying unnecessarily? It was a regular client who said I am working 'under the radar' as an independent and if I work for an agency, even on a part time basis there is a risk of my identity being discovered if they are audited.

I have not started yet and they have no pictures (apart from passport) but I really need advice. I know agency work is not encouraged on here but I thought it was a reasonable way to 'network' in my fairly remote area. The agency have NO ladies in my area.

Thank you in advance.

Apparently as long as they have no record of me having worked there, there would be nothing to go on even if the docs were not destroyed.  :(

It's too late to take it back. Damage limitation.

I've had to show (briefly) ID to agencies to prove my age before. Have never photocopied but I met them in purpose.

Don't panic (there's no point!). You can't get your identity back now but you might want to seriously consider whether you want to be involved with an agency who has your real details on file.
