Fake money, UV light
« on: 26 July 2014, 12:12:33 pm »
Hi girls.
I went to bank to put some money and what happened  :o from 400? which I had 40? was fake  :-\ I always use pen to  check money. I was so shocked to hear that, I asked a lady how it was possible as I checked everything and she told me about new method of counterfeit. She advised to use UV light as pen is not accuracy enough...on fake money you would see a lot of small, bright lines.

If you do a search on here then you'll find discussions about this already, but no one method picks up every different kind of fake banknote - neither pens nor UV lights. They can both be helpful, but the best way to pick them out is to learn what to look and feel for with your own eyes and your hands.

Yes even fakes can get through bank scrutiny so what chance have we got?
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Wh smith sells the pen. Not sure about where one can purchase other methods. Bank staff can explain what to look for

Maybe we need to get those uv light from the nail shops ;)
If you rub ?50 on white
paper some of the pink comes off on it. That shows its real.
Isn't it amazing the money all seemed the same but some was fake, shows how clever they are and how careful we all have to be. I think that ?20are frequently forged.

Pens became obsolete a while ago and you won't see a bank use them, they add chemicals to the fake money to render the pen useless. Best thing is a UV light and to be familiar with the different features on money used as anti counterfeit.
