Becoming a receptionist
« on: 20 February 2011, 03:21:21 pm »
Hi,
I don?t know if I should be bothering anyone with this but I have been reading your forum for quite a while and have found the information to be very helpful.
I?m in a dilemma, I have been offer a job by a guy who runs an agency I used to work for, he is setting up another agency 50 miles away and has asked me to be his receptionist / manager for this new agency. The agency will be flat work and then out calls when it get established and he has found suitable drivers in that area. Do any of you have experience in going from an escort to being the receptionist? I worked for him before but left as I wanted to get a 9 ? 5 job, which I have found hard to settle in to (it?s quite boring).
Any advice?
Sparklegirl.

I don't have experience of this, but it's worth mentioning that it would put you in a very different legal position then when you were working as an escort. If you're involved with running the agency or arranging bookings, you'll be "controlling prostitution for gain", which is illegal. Before you decide, think about whether your local police are the type to raid an agency, and whether this guy is likely to do dodgy stuff that would get their attention. Also bear in mind that even if there generally aren't problems, you're still doing something which could theoretically get you in prison.

Plus, from the sound of it, the 'agency' is a brothel as well and police usually have raiding those as a higher priority than outcall agencies.

The Crown Prosecution Agency have recently updated their comments on receptionists, see http://sw5.info/law/maids/

'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."
