If I accepted every bareback request for a month I would be a very rich woman. However, I would then need to take lots of time off for PEP and STI testing/treatment, stress and possible pregnancy - so a bit of a false economy really  ;D

That said, I'm in agreement with those who say that every WG has choice over what they do. This forum is so unique and packed to the rafters with advice; I would hope that every WG was reading it to help them stay safe, regardless of what they offer or don't.

Then again how many women go on on a saturday night and get drunk and take home a guy and have unprotected sex. I know friends who have had countless one night stands and caught STDs and yet I have worked for 7 years and never caught anything and I offer owo and cim, but never bareback.

Least with an escort advertising bareback, its clear to the client so they can either book her or not. The clients know they are taking a risk and maybe that's the excitement for them!

What I don't like is the "Groups" of escorts and everyone is advertising bareback. Like a pimp has a few girls working and advertising their profiles as bareback to get the clients there. And the poor escorts may find themselves in a difficult position when the client arrives.

Can anyone remember the ?1 a minute group ?69 bareback and everything included, but has now vanished. I believe this was one example of a pimped group of escorts and someone was managing their profiles and advertising all services to attract clients.

I think some escorts advertise bareback to get clients in and then refuse the service. This is incredibly risky as clients may feel tricked and just take the condom off anyway!

There are also well established porn starts that offer bareback but only if the client has a STD certificate (Which can easily be faked) and the escort charges extra for bareback on top.

So each to there own! But I do think whatever services you decided to offer, every escort should get regular STD testing and look after their sexual health.

While I agree 100% about each woman being free to offer the services she chooses, and that all unprotected activities carry some risk, I do think that looking at the bigger picture of prostitution offering bareback raises various issues that perhaps in a roundabout way might have a detrimental effect on us all:

1. Pimped/trafficked girls being coerced into offering bareback, offering yet another argument for those who want to ban sex work
2. Falsely advertising that you will do bareback but then refusing, leading to pissed off clients
3. Justifiably being accused of potentially spreading diseases

You can only hope that WGs who do offer it get themselves tested extremely regularly and that it is completely their choice.

I guess it's not for us to judge others for what they do/don't do.

You guess right.

Let's leave the "I wouldn't, therefore you mustn't" arguments to those against sex work. It makes them, and anyone else who uses them, look foolish and intolerant...

Yes many women go out and have a one nite stand at the weekend and not protecting themself, we've probably all done it and it only takes that 1 chance if your unlucky to catch something quite awful but as an eacort offering it to several men, every day of the week......the chance is much, much higher and then spreading the diseases all over the place making it even more unsafe for everyone which is why BB in the sex industry is so taboo.

I have been working as an escort for about 4 years and never once sucked a cock without a condom yet in my private life if I was dating someone, I wouldn't think twice but to give him oral without using a condom.

It's the large numbers of being an eacort that makes it so dodgy which I am sure you know.

The "each individual is entitled to decide on the level of risk they're prepared to take" includes clients too, of course. Fortunately, it tends to be easy to screen out the ones with a distinctly different level to yours: they tend to make it very obvious.

To everyone: we know this a very touchy subject. As previously, can we please take it as read that lots of people here would not offer this as a service? If everyone who didn't said so, it would be a very long and boring thread. We also know that some of the people reading make different choices, including about this.

Someone told me that if you ask for a certificate at the clinic, they will give you one is this true?

"It depends". Some will, and some of those will charge for them.

The big reason for not handing them out generally - and not relying on any that you see without being able to trust the person clutching one, thus ruling out the vast majority of sex work situations - is that they only tell you something about the past.

So for HIV, the usual test will be able to say 'this person very probably didn't have HIV about a month ago'. Anything could have happened in the meantime and if they have caught HIV then, they will be particularly infectious despite having the piece of paper saying the test was HIV-.

There's also no standard format, so it would be easy for someone to run something official looking up themselves.
