I've had hem all week but presumed it's because I'm new...

Couple of them I've spotted quick but worst one just changed details constantly over 24 hours until it was so ridiculous I told him point blank no.
If you really are classy, you don't need to say it... Just be it

I get 99% of tw contacting me. Always have done. Wish they'd just do one n quit it. It's worse when you've had nothing come in for ages, it just makes me even more pissed off!

You will get 3-10 timewaster in 1 day and 0-4 genuine bookings. More timewasters out there than genuine bookings

I think some of it comes down to how you market yourself. Not all of it, but some of it.

Some TW's may be potential genuine clients who simply don't follow through and book. I mean, what some women call a TW may be - obviously, the guys wanking on the phone are pure TW's.

I have a friend who gets a LOT of no-shows. I think it's because she somehow doesn't command respect.

I class a tw someone who books and don't turn up / doesn't tell me that isn't coming  and actively wastes my time / preventing me from taking other bookings because he had that time booked

I've had 1 timewaster in 5 days ( London )
Last one I had in Bristol was Xmas Eve

I very rarely get someone book an appointment and they don't turn up

I work to a very specific set of rules and it's work very well

When I do get a Tw 99 percent of the time it's down to me not sticking to my own rules

This is doing anything from 2/3 a day at home and 2- 6 bookings a day when touring

I'm sure now I will get a load of tw

I dont take short notice bookings from new clients and I found out this is the best way to ged rid of tws.
If they want to book 2 hours from now for example, I ask them to confirm again one hour before to get my address.
I dont like short notice anyway as I dont like to rush to get ready in 20-30 minutes when there is a 50% chance I rush for nothing.

I find directions difficult at last minute, bloke phones to book at 30 minutes notice, I could spend 5 minute giving directions, so 25 minutes to get ready, he phones several times on the way, doesn't have chance to plan his route, finds out he's 30 minutes away still........that sort of thing.

So I do prefer 2-3 hours notice with confirm and directions given one hour before, if I've a booking finishing one hour before I'll ask for the confirm at 45 minutes prior then I have chance to be free for the call or text.

I give them directions by text and ask them to call when they are at the landmark. I use the same text, just copy it from another message and modify the time of the booking xx

Yes I do have a text, but some want to phone and tell me they are on some random road they don't know the name of, where am I? do I mean this road, that road. They've put the post code into the sat nav and realise they are an additional 30 minutes away. They don't have a map, don't have a sat nav.......

Does this happen to you a lot? Are you in an odd location?

It did when I took short notice bookings, guys who book 1-2 hours  in advance don't have the problem.

The main issue was that some people didn't realise how far they were from my town, or would phone when in the town not knowing which road they were on. The town has several main roads running into it and I am right next to 'the' main road in the centre.

If someone tells me which direction they are coming in from I send clear directions from that road, but if someone is already in town and can't tell me, and don't have a map or navigation system then it's hopeless.

For the distance from the town itself they'd tell me they could get there in a certain amount of time, but they actually didn't know the distance or would be being over ambitious. If they told me where they were I would give an accurate time for them, but that's the trouble some men didn't want to tell me where they were driving from.

I found that those who book at least 1-2 hours in advance seemed to be able to be more organised, would pop the post code in and follow my directions no problem at all.

I see what you mean.

I get guys calling from my town's main train station, which is a 20 minute walk away. I ask them if they A) have the extra 45 minutes to make the round trip and B) have Maps on their phone. If they're not clear on either of those but still seem keen to see me, I advise them to take a taxi (and tell them it will be about ?10 round trip). But, if I think they're in a hurry to get any WG they can because they've got time between trains or something, I don't really encourage them.
