Are good professional photos worth investing in
« on: 06 September 2017, 01:11:54 am »
Do you find that having good tasteful professional pictures done gets you a fair to good amount of business in return? Do you think its vital to survival in this business to fairly regularly update pictures, profile, adverts, wadrobe etc? Also do you think being active on social media especially twitter brings in at least a fair amount of business? Please if anyone knows any professional who is great at digital marketing  with actual results please pm   me answer on here after all sharing is caring  :-*  Thanks xxx

I think it's worth having it done at least once, if only to give you ideas about shots, poses etc. Clients like naturals and selfies, but you don't need to Photoshop professional ones to buggery - I saw David at Boudoir Photography and he just even out skin tone etc.

I'm not sure Twitter brings in business, but I find it useful to keep people up to date with availability, highlight any blog posts I've made, announce tours etc. Some directories will also retweet you.

Absolutely! But that's just me.

It's my business so I want to look like a quality product. I look like a dog in selfies though and am not photogenic so I need a professional to get the angles right.

I think others do just fine with amateur shots but they are more photogenic.

In saying that, not all professional pics are good. I see a lot of overly airbrushed pics on AW and that's just as bad as a poorly taken selfie.

For me I do think its worth it but im not sure in just how good/expensive they need to be.

I had a large gradual increase previously when i went from selfie type photos to professionally editted stills and pics from Filming work i had done. Right now I have just restarted after a long break and noticed buisness is terrible with selfies but this could be because I am terrible at taking pictures and not the most photographic of people! I have seen some amazing non-pro photos on some peoples and wonder if it isnt so much if they are pro shoots just if they are good quality photos. Im also hotel incall mostly so that may have somejing to do with it!

I'm currently on a insanely tight budget and hoping to get my shoot done asap, seriously wondering if a non escort photographer could be worth investing in but maybe someone else will know the risk/pros/cons of this. Twitter i had very little buisness from but i did enjoy having a hoe account to talk to people etc.

I use professional ones mostly.  Couple of reasons, they're far more professional than selfies, I'm crap at selfies, and also I don't want my working room to be identified from selfies on AW.  Far more risky for me.  Have them done in a half decent hotel and the photographer so know the right angles and what colours suit etc.

I know one in Dublin if any want his details if you can pm me, I used his services over 4 years. You can get a video taken too at the same time. I never felt rushed by him. He has got a work partner too some times there.

Professional photos can be worth it, I've picked up lots of tips and gained confidence as a result of the good photographers and their make up artists. The poor experiences however did floor me, and sent my confidence diving.

In the last couple of years I've found a couple who are very good, and am now using someone who aims to provide less 'fantasy', more of a natural look.

Throughout most of this I have had my own selfies/shots straight from my own camera, but find this a pain in the neck and really prefer someone who can do them for me!

Depends on the image you want to portray. If you are gfe or even pse sometimes unedited shots are better and maybe more a turn on for some if you just have a good friend/ another girl you know in the biz take some ranchy amateur shots for your private gallery (if on AW) and a few nice angles in a few outfits (or as many as you want!) in a nice hotel room should be fine.

If you are offering Dom and sub/fetish services the pictures (I'm quite creative so for me the possibilitys would be endless!) especially if you charged extra, could be better done with someone with vision and creativity as it can add a more professional feel to it. This is all just speculation as I have never had any professional pictures but if I did it would be a tie-in to promote my more unique services.

I've had professional pictures done in July and my schedule has been busy ever since, I offer domination only at this point. I have hardly advertised since then and have enough bookings at the moment. Had great feedback from regulars and new clients, I also had special themes (hotel for high class latex shoots for fetish people and edgier stuff in an abandoned factory) which gave a great mix between the luxurious vibe and more thematic stuff.
Also I have arranged my first work tour to London (am from Holland) after the pictures and all my clients came from Twitter, they all paid a deposit so all my costs are covered.
A lot of clients I know from Twitter as well, as I'm specialized in hardsports, I do great with short clips and pictures. Many visit and contact me when they are in Amsterdam, my colleague has similar looks and the same specialization but gets less clients. My pictures are professional and hers not, and I use twitter more. So I think it makes a difference

Personally I think well taken photos are a must, in nice outfits and with good backdrops but this can be achieved with a useful mate or selfies. I know some escorts swear by regular photoshoots with pro photographers, but personally I am not convinced, but perhaps that is because of how I market myself whereas they are aiming for a far more high end 'elite' type image.

Twitter is good for keeping up on sex work stories and activism and I know a few clients follow me or at least keep an eye on my account but I am not convinced it has bought me much new business.

I do think that having a really good AW profile and own website really make the difference and I really notice when I am blogging regularly I am busier.

I agree - provided you're not marketing yourself in the supermodel bracket with rates to match then clear, representative pictures which are nicely lit and show you at your best are what's important, not who took them. I take all of mine myself with my phone and a tripod amd do fine - pro shoots aren't suited to everybody as I found out a couple of years ago when I spent the thick end of 500 quid on a set that went no further than the bin.

As for Twitter, I'd rather chew off my arms and legs  ;D

I noticed an increase of business once I had professional photos done and I also increased my pricing by 40 per hour (I'm outcall 90% of the time) around the same time and I still had an increase in business - which must have been down to the pics because I'm sure that pricing jump should have put some people off.

I do market and aim for 'higher end' but I'm not a supermodel by anybody's standards. I just wanted to make myself look very nice by the way I marketed myself. I think it looks more professional and can add a little extra.
I do also think it's good to have some selfie type pictures too because clients do want to see what we look like without photoshop haha. So I use my professional pics as profile pics and then have some nice selfie pics in my free gallery just to show that I'm real.

I wouldn't pay more than ?500 for some, as you can get some decent pics done for that. You only really need a minimum of  3 decent pro ones - so don't be tempted to get the best package that offers 15 outfit changes and 20 pics.

I ended up with loads of great pics from my shoot because the photographer was really good.

As for twitter, I tried and lasted 2 days. I don't do social media in my private life so I really can't be assed to start just for whoring

I've always taken my own pics - but to be fair in the past I've put a lot of effort into it & I do know my way around photoshop and colour editing make a huge difference to the final product. I once had a professional photographer as a client and they were honestly the worst photos of me I've ever seen!!  :-[ I don't think professional photos are vital but they can definitely help if it's not something you're confident in doing yourself.

I have a twitter and it brings in a little bit of business and promotes my personal website (which i mostly keep as a backup in case aw randomly delete my profile) but it's mostly people from overseas that end up interacting/following so I'd only bother if you have a fair bit of free time

Good clear pictures for me are a must, but they have to be realistic, I see so many photographers now who's skill seems to be in photoshop rather than taking photos, editing skin to the point where it just does not look real, even changing whole bodyparts and slimming people down to the point where they are not the girl in the photo. If I only used selfies or webcam pictures I would not get the work I currently get, although I think a mixture of both can work really well, as people can see what you look like in pro and amateur shots.

When you look for a photographer make sure they have a good selection of pictures on their website in different locations, and dont over-photoshop their pictures.

As for social networking, other ladies say they get lots of work from it and wouldnt survive without it, and yet I do really well without.
