Are featherlight condoms safe?
« on: 22 June 2013, 09:16:37 pm »
While on the subject of condoms can anyone tell me if featherlight condoms are safe?
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Lottie, do you think condoms which were not safe would be allowed to be sold in the UK?

I've never had a break with fetherlite on average sized men but one of my mates says he has had two mishaps, but he could be underestimating his size I suppose!
I like my men clean, gentlemanly and with envelopes...

Sorry, I should have been clear - I was assuming that people buying condoms for work would buy from reputable places and make sure they had the proper kite mark and so on (although even ones sold in a pound shop should be fit for purpose, and if they're not they should have been reported to Trading Standards).

The only condoms I have ever had break were Durex ones, which has happened twice and I have never bought them since. Usually if they break it's because they're not on properly and nothing to do with the thickness - we had a thread a while ago about the Extra Safe ones breaking and if memory serves me, they're like welly boots  ;D.

Or not using lube? Can make all the difference.

Fetherlite are well lubricated anyway. They may not be suitable for really big size, but more than average is fine.I never had any issues with them.

Very important not to let any oil based products get on the condom.

You can try this simple experiment, blow up a condom and put a couple of drops of oil on it and within a couple of minutes it will burst. I suspect that many times a breakage is due to things like baby oil from a massage or even hand creams that contain oils coming into contact with the condom.

ALL my breakages have been Durex, I avoid them as much as poss now.

The ?1 shop ones that I bought a while back (for research and practice purposes ;D ) were kitemarked and stood up to repeated unrolling and rolling - pretty good considering how many times I caught my teeth on them! :D

Yes, I tend to think most condom breakage problems are due to lube issues.

I've got an applicator, and I put (out of sight of the client) some lube high up inside so that when the penis goes in it feels some resistance until it reaches the lube and spreads it around. It feels natural to the client, and it often seems to spur them on. Mission accomplished.

Did you get them from Boots or online? I'm asking cause there are loads of fakes around.I used ebay, and had problem with Durex condoms splitting.
Now it's either NHS website or chemist.

The Durex ones I had break were in civvydom years ago and just bought over the counter - I've never had one break whilst working, I don't think.

There are several posts/threads about Durex Extra Safe being unsuitable for prossie use if anybody wants to use the Search box (I'm on my phone so can't easily post links).

Ditto. I don't use Durex for work.
