Roxy, the quickest way for you to see how all other escorts do things is just to start browsing Adultwork and Punternet and other directories (as per the advertising article on the main site, http://www.saafe.info) to look at their websites and profiles. For all of us to write here our marketing methods in entirety, even summarised, would take pages and pages and hours and hours. We all have to do our own research before leaping into being an independent escort - that's part of being independent.

Arming yourself with not just knowledge but the
ability to gain the knowledge that you may need in future is essential.
Luckily, it's not rocket science. Read punter reviews to find out what clients like and don't like in escorts (and agencies and websites and parlours and directories - they make all sorts of off-hand comments in reviews that are gold dust when it comes to understanding 'the punter psyche'). They are not a homogenous group, of course, by any means! But you'll begin to get a good overview of what is more popular vs. less popular in general, and via your own experimentation with marketing and working methods you'll learn what really works
for you.
Glad to hear the agency aren't evil. Although one could certainly make the argument that being useless when sending random men to meet newbie escorts = worse than useless, as it's downright dangerous and is therefore somewhat evil. But everyone knows my opinion on that sort of thing already.

(It's pretty dangerous for them to tell clients you're "Libby" and then leave YOU to inform each bloke that he's been lied to and, basically, scammed/ripped off - not because you aren't offering the services, but only because you aren't the girl in the pictures. You'll see from Punternet reviews that clients very much dislike being deceived in this way and if the agency sends the wrong sort of guy to you, who knows how he could react? With violence? Not overly likely, but also not unlikely - see the Warnings area of this forum for examples of how violence is unfortunately still an issue to take very seriously as an escort.)
You don't need a fancy website to go indie. Get an Adultwork profile (and a safety buddy!!) up with some candid snaps - again, you can browse AW extensively to get an idea of which profiles are popular and what seems to work and what seems not to work. That'll be much quicker than all of us here trying to explain things which depend on a thousand factors.
