Clients bluetooth found my name :-(

I was in a clients car the other day and he scanned for bluetooth devices (stalker type)
Sure enough he found my private phone, aswell as the work phone, which had my own name on.
Just be careful as I'm sure that phones can search for phones and if the client is a tad stalkerish he could pick up On the name of all your devices

I have no clue about phones/bluetooth - so how did this device connect your work name/phone with your real name?

Yes if you have your devices registered to a name it will show if someone searches.

Although I thought the other person has to have their Bluetooth switched on too, so might be good idea to make sure it's switched off, or deny deny deny after all it could be anyone's within the vicinity.

I actually accidentally bluetoothed some dirty vids to a complete stranger  ;D.

I've just turned off all of my phones blue tooth to off ....it's not something I'd even thought of until he said my real name :-(

Just make sure your bluetooth is turned off, I also turn off my location services

You can change it to whatever you like
I love scanning Bluetooth and seeing what funny names people use

My Bluetooth on my phone says ' fuck off & leave my wifi alone" 

On my other phone it's " I see dead people "


It's always funny when it try's to link to my Bose system or my car Bluetooth and says connecting to fuck off & leave my wifi alone in a very robotic voice

I'm so changing mine now! Mine it's pretty boring it says Iphone5.  It used to say my name I have no idea when or how it changed.

Just ensure Bluetooth is only turned on when you need it and no one will be able to find your device.
