Hi Guys

No, it isn't. Anywhere or anybody who wants money from you before you have done any work is a scammer, and these sites are nothing to do with the sex industry.
We don't recommend agencies here full stop, but there's a difference between a genuine agency which is just crap/potentially dangerous/run by criminals (as they all are by virtue of the pimping laws) and an out and out scam - these are no different to the nice people in Burkina Faso who mail and ask for your bank details ::).
I'd maybe suggest reading the main site again, and there's a lot of information on the forum too - the Search box is in the top right corner. I can't imagine anybody is going to advise agency work as the way forward when you can do far better yourself and get to keep all your money (and I'm surprised you'd even consider it having read the main site), but whatever specific questions you have, we're all here to help :).

No it's not the norm. Don't ever pay anyone up front. I'm now independent which is the best way to do it but have been with a couple of agencies when i first started. Any genuine agency will not expect money upfront or any "auditions". If you do get with an agency, depending on what their picture policy is you may require a photoshoot that costs as it's done by a professional but even then 2 of the agencies i was with paid for it and let me pay them back a bit out of each booking until it was paid. I would definitely have a look at Adultwork though if i was you and look at doing it independently x

Cindy, you are defo not too old. I started whoring when I was 53 and finished a year ago at 61+ because of side effects of meds that were making me dizzy. (I'm dizzy enough without meds) and taking dizzy turns if with a client is defo not a good thing.
You still have years ahead of you for working and the extra years you have will stand you in good stead with your life experiences.

I started last year on my 57th birthday and will soon be celebrating my first anniversary in the game. I came on here and read everything and was told to read everything again which I did. I then went and put a profile up on Adult Work and the rest is history as they say. I started in hotels and now have an in call flat. Okay, I work part time, am a student, and not on the road to financial freedom yet, but I am certainly in better shape than I was 6 months ago.
Whatever you are, as a woman, you have control because there is certainly a market out there for it. Anyway, I am sure some of the older ladies on here will agree, mature women rock, in terms of confidence and sexuality, it's been an eye opener in how many younger guys have 'Mrs Robinson' fantasies, it's a huge market.

Agree totally, being an escort does not necessarily mean that's all you'll ever be able to do, it opens up so many doors. For example, there is no way I would be able to maintain my degree without it as I simply don't have the time to do a paid civvy job alongside my work placement!
If you think of it this way... An agency will take a cut of the money YOU have earned as well as preventing you from being able to choose when you work and how long for (potentially the two main benefits of this job) and therefore, most girls much prefer to be indie.
Just read through SAAFE, build up your spidey sense and go it alone if you feel you can.

You're not too old. Never too old for this line of work, there are clients who like only mature women. Like Foxylady said, it is a big market. And never pay money upfront for agencies that is a scam! I started my career with an agency parlour because I didn't know how everything worked :o. Once I knew eventually became independent. Another lady who worked at the parlour was in her late 40s and made good money, her clients were all young 8)

I turned thirty this year - is that mature? Probably for some, not so much for others, and I am so glad I didn't start when I first wanted to do this nine years ago. The life experience I've had to deal with in the last decade has certainly toughened me up and I feel way more confident now than I've ever done before. I started two months ago - I've not long turned 42. My clients are either a lot older or a lot younger; there is a market for everyone. I deliberated doing this for 2 years, I just figured that this is the ideal route for me as I've done the on-line dating, meeting guys and often having one night stands with them. Agreed - I'll be 43 in a couple of months and I've never lied about my age. Whether punters want to book a 43 year old isn't really the point; if they don't want to and get one anyway then they're not going to be happy, so why not target those who want to see you rather than trying to trick and deceive people who might not into it?
You look your age because you are your age, just like everybody else. Nobody can look younger than they are because people aren't all the same.

You are never too old and they love the mature women as they do the younger ones. I started when I was 36 and will hit the big 40 very soon. It depends how you look, I think if you make yourself look younger you can say you are in your 30s. I mean they dont check you ID which is good to tell them, the look can talk your age.

I looked at some older women photos at my sites where I add and what a lost of potential! If I would be older I would a) for sure coloured my hair to blond makes you look younger b) dont use to much make up and specially not red lipstick as it shows all the wrinkels more visable c) use white or strong colors of outfits, also skinny panties or jeans would work, not black couse its boring and again adds a few years, red is good d) makes sure to have fotos in good light or lighten them up with special effects
