Am I taking on too much for my first day on the job?!
« on: 05 January 2014, 02:35:55 pm »
I have my very first client 3pm next week, then one at 5pm, one at 7pm, (all half hour) and then another at 10am the next day for an hour..

Is this too much to be doing realistically when i've never done this before?

I feel okay about it, I mean i'm nervous and have butterflies lol, but I don't feel any more nervous than I did when I had only one guy booked!

I don't think so - ninety minute gaps between bookings is plenty and there's no guarantee that any (or all) of them will confirm and turn up. Just make sure you're organised beforehand in terms of food, what you're going to wear, confirmation times and so on and you'll be fine - as you've said, two or three really isn't that different to one and you might find (like me) that you work much better once you're started and got on a bit of a roll :).

That said, if you don't like it, aren't comfortable or don't want to continue for any reason at all after any of them, cancel the others. They won't be happy, but no decent punter wants to see a miserable or stressed out WG and there's plenty more they can call instead.

Thats true, I wanted a big enough space so I could shower and sort out my hair and makeup again lol, Got to remember food, almost forgot that!

Also.. its in a hotel but one of the big chain hotels no keycards to get in doors or anything, but 4 guys coming and going! Bit dodgy but it'l be okay I think. Going to really dress down when i walk in, carry a folder. Once I get in the room i'm not going to leave so the receptionists wont see me all tarted up at all x

Are you in a city or town? Is there a train station or airport nearby?

In that case I would leave the folder (its more likely to draw attention to you) or if your going for the I'm here on business look I would also have a laptop case. But personally I would just wear my civvies, for all they know you are catching an early train/flight.

As long your discreet you will be fine, especially with such long gaps in between. Remember and make sure they dont call you for room nnumber in the lobby or right outside the front doors, and ask them not to repeat what your saying (you wouldnt believe how many guys yell out "Room ###").

A tip if theres a spyhole is to tell them just to pretend they are going in to their own room) you watch for them coming and you open door from inside at same time they're pretending to open it from the outside).

Hi,

On your first day housekeeping should be gone by the time you are starting.  Have you allowed enough time from arriving to getting ready for your first appointment?

Be careful with your morning after booking (10am) as housekeeping may be around.  If you are only staying one night they may leave you alone but with some when they don't see any movement from the room then they make sure you haven't slept in for checking out.

Many maybe grateful for that, but we are not, for many try to fit in extra bookings before they leave.

All the best.

That's what the Do Not Disturb sign is for :).

It is, but when have housekeeping bothered about that.  Yes I know they do sometimes, but not on others.  You have to be sure you have used all the locks on the door to ensure your privacy.  Some don't have a lot  :(  :o

You'll be okay as long as the first client is good. After my first one I was looking forward to the next one because he'd turned out easy and I was almost punching the air afterwards. I don't think three spaced out like that is too much at all. You sound confident and obviously want to do it. I was the same and it was as much a relief as anything to get the first one done.

I do this, I check into hotels looking like utter shit half the time on the hope that they would never suspect I am an escort and I get all my food and drinks first thing in the morning before I am even showered never mind all my make-up etc on then at nite time when I take towels to the laundry I again have no make up or anything on and I tie all my hair back.

I guess I just try to blend in and not draw any attention to myself.

xx

Well they have when I've used them, and I stay in a hell of a lot of hotels. I've had housekeeping walk in without knocking before but never when the sign has been on - the most annoying thing I've had them do is phone the room to see if I want it doing (and why they think that won't disturb me is anybody's guess ???).

If you've got a chain or swing bolt on the door, so much the better but I really wouldn't worry about it. And four blokes over the course of an afternoon and the following morning is really nothing to worry about; I've had more than that come and go before lunchtime before and provided you're not creating a nuisance nobody's likely to either notice, or be the slightest bit interested :).
