Hi,
New account.. but have a problem!
Currently staying in a hotel. It's one of the few hotels in this city without keycard access.
I've already seen one client but logged into adultwork on hotel wifi just answering the emails around an hour ago. I was about to pay for 'available today's when the room phone rings.
The man at reception goes, 'I wont keep you long, just asking if you are enjoying your stay with us today?"
I just say yes thank you and put the phone down.
I'm very confused as this has never happened before.. how would they know I'm inside my room to call me?
I know you can monitor what sites are accessed so my paranoia is linking it back to that.
Did he genuinely call asking that question?
I've connected my hotspot now but feel watched and not so keen on taking more bookings here.
Thank you for any advice
Ps, I dont hide my face in pictures online so very good chance they recognise me

I’ve had the room phone ring a few times whilst working in hotels. I never answer. But if they suspected you of something they’d knock and speak face to face, surely?
Don’t be paranoid! Keep it lowkey, vet clients as per. Don’t take on anyone who might give the game away lol.
I’m sure you’ll be fine :)

Well if you hadn't been in your room, you wouldn't know if they'd called you?
It sounds like a pretty standard courtesy call to me - depending on the type of hotels you stay in they're not that uncommon. Had it been a woman, it could have been me checking whether there was anybody in the room opposite before I gave a punter the number, too :)
As for the wifi, do you really think that random front office staff are authorised to spy on guests in this way? Or even if they were and had literally nothing better to do, that the only people in the hotel looking at adult sites would be prostitutes? If you've been rumbled you've been rumbled, but the chances of it being anything to do with the wifi are infinitessimal and I'd be more likely to blame the punter.

I've had calls like that as a civvy. On the other hand, I never use hotel wifi to check anything to do with whoring.

No worries. Seems like the front desk calls me every time I get in my room to see if it's to my liking.
Give it to me for free, that's more in line....🤔🤷🏼♀️

I actually un plug the phone when abroad working in one hotel as they call non stop to check if need housekeeping, how was housekeeping, do I need a turn down service. How is my stay. LOL
I politely say it’s fab until you call time and time again when I’ve got Do Not Disturb on because I’m jet lagged and SLEEPING. They forget and it’s repeat the whole process the next day when change over of staff happens. So the phone gets unplugged! ::)

Hotel staff are more than likely trained to be friendly.

Its purely their courtesy call to you as a guest. Don't worry and keep going with your tour .
Good luck x

I’ve experienced this too. The Hilton send texts asking if all’s well. Recon this is standard nowadays.
