Alternative profession title
« on: 26 September 2020, 09:35:04 am »
Hi ladies, I need some help! I've worked in this profession on and off for a number of years but I'm now applying for a university course and would like to add that I have been self employed and have certain skills and experience in business that will help with my application. For obvious reasons i don't won't to write that I'm a escort and I don't have qualifications in any other field/ profession so I can't use another profession as they would want proof of qualifications. For tax purposes I'm down as a therapist but the university might want to see proof of training in that. Does anyone know a another self employed job description I could say where you don't need to be qualified?

I would be concerned that if ever outed, you could lose everything on the basis of integrity. Without knowing more about the course, and your circumstances (and I don't expect to) I would encourage caution. My advise would be to 'blur' out your experience as much as possible. Also can you get on the course without mentioning it at all? My observations have been quite a lot of uni's appear accept older students (older being 19 or over), with their own motivation and general common sense without having to prove themselves.

Not quite Uni, but when I applied for College I I basically just said I had left school and looked for work but struggled to find anything and had been caring for a family member and doing voluntary work. I did not mention  anything in relation to escorting. I had an interview and was basically asked to write a little bit about why I wanted to take the course and do a little bit of basic maths and that was it.

I've known people to use self employed domestic cleaner in circumstances like this and it worked fine, depends if the uni want work references or not.

Thanks Ladies for the advice. I just wanted to showcase my skills on being self employed/running a business. The cleaning one probably sounds like the best option or probably not saying anything at all  :-X

Cleaned is a good idea, nanny, dog sitter, hairstylist, life coach ( self proclaimed ) there are many nowadays without any qualifications
