Agencies
« on: 11 April 2008, 02:46:51 pm »
Hi Everyone

Ive had a look at this site which is very good. Im going to start an agency but i want to know the best method of recruiting escorts.

I plan to offer both incall (via hotels) and outcall services and am looking to charge between 20-25% fee and will be based in birmingham. Marketing will be mostly web based with some local newspaper ads.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this.

On a seperate note, i just wanted to mention that microsoft also offer a great package with a free website, free domain and hosting and email. Check it out

So what do you get from including your referral id in the link?

Local newspapers are probably best for recruiting, and any message boards that allow you to advertise are worth a try. You could try asking local indies if they want to be on your books but you might need to sweeten the deal as they already run (probably) successful business.

I dont get anything from the link! its Just some friendly advice.

Succesful indies who provide good service is really who i want but i dont see why they would want to join an agency if they are already successful. When you mentioned "sweeten the deal", what do you mean by that?

You used your refferal code (the bit after the question mark), which usually means you get some kind of reward when people follow it and sign up, it looks suspicious for your first post.

By sweeten the deal, I mean take less or no commission from them, perhaps for the first month or until you feel you're established enough to go for a profit. An indie may be successful but not getting all the work she can handle, in which case she'll be willing to consider methods of increasing her exposure, I used to do some work via an agency when there was one in town that I liked. The more money they get from each booking the more likely they are to accept your offer. You may well get some with your regular rates (20-25% is pretty attractive), but you'd undoubtedly get more with lower rates, so you might decide it's worth it for the sake of having some good girls on your books when you launch.

It's just occurred to me that business is generally slow at the moment with fears of a recession. It's not a great time to be starting an escort business, but recruiting will be easier.

Then you won't mind if I edit the link.

As Anika Mae says, I'm not sure if now is a good time to be starting up a new escort business. What with the drop in house prices and the forced cut in interest rates, and the general downturn, I reckon it'd be a bit of an uphill struggle for you. There are a lot of agencies out there. Yours would have to provide something special.

I dont mind the edit on the link at all. In fact, anyone can type in "office live" into google and it will come up automatically.

I agree with points made about the economic downturn, but i will be providing both an incall and outcall service and In a recent thread on punternet, many punters made a point that birmingham is way behind other UK cities when it comes to escorting and parlours. Ive seen the competition, and there only seems to be  only a handful of quality businesses.

In terms of providing something special, again i agree - thats where im stuck. I want to provide a unique service which no one else provides so im still waiting for that "lightbulb" moment.

There is an agency in london called loyalty escorts - i do like the concept of that because its different. I was thinking of doing something similar to that but any membership fee that i collect, i would make sure that it gets distributed amongst the escorts on my books on a monthly basis.

For credit cards, i have a google merchant account....does anyone know if chargebacks can be applied at any time? or is there a cut off point?

hiya sorry im a bit late in

adverts in the paper can be a good idea when starting out along with a good website(obviosly lol) but you will need to get reliable girls and if you get let down how would you deal with that occurance? would you stand in for them yourself?
also security what kind of security will you provide for the ladies after all thats what they are giving you a fee for along with advertising their wares
it may be a good idea to chat to some agency owners and see what they do and how things are going with them
youve mentioned about a membership fee is that for clients ?

the membership would be for clients who become regulars (quality, reliable punters). I would not charge the escorts anything at all apart from the 25% agency fee. Im also thinking of reducing the fee to 20% after a "trial" period as an incentive for the escort.

Im actually meeting a london agency owner to get some tips but ive found that generally, agency owners dont want to give the secret of their success away! (and i dont blame them to be honest)

In terms of security, i was thinking of getting a driver  - any recommendations for the birmingham area would be greatly appreciated (via PM if possible)

The other thing i was thinking about was that i would like an experienced lady to answer the phone calls for the agency. How do i employ someone who has done this before? Any ideas?

Im thinking of a multi-city escort agency with branches in different cities  - i dont think thats been done before.

I'm sorry but most of what your asking is the same for any business set up, after all everybody wants to stand out from the competition, and if you don't know the basics, then i really would be worried about long term success, yes i know asking here for help could be considered research, but with several large adult employment sites out there, newspapers etc....

secondly do you think its such a good idea to advertise your breaking googles AUP? http://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/answer.py?answer=75724

specifically the bit that states
Quote
Unacceptable product categories
 Examples

Adult goods and services

Pornography and other sexually suggestive materials (including literature, imagery and other media); escort or prostitution service's

I would also be pretty sure Microsoft have or will be having such clauses either now or in the future for their website service

Can i ask just out of curiosity how much escorting experience you have?

One more thing as your promoting office live, could you tell me who owns this "free domain name" and what happens if you want to point it away from thier servers?

Dont have any experience in this field at all and i dont think i could stand in for missed appointments if im being honest. Ive got experience in running successful businesses but am looking for a career change and wanted to "manage" it rather than doing it myself.

Anjali

Re the merchant account, what i actually meant was which company are you using for transacting card payments...is it worldpay, one of the high street banks etc. I know its in your name, but which company handles the transactions.

At time of writing, no reponse from MS about domains.
