Hot flushes, feeling light headed and headaches etc.
It happened with the sponge and a seperate time when i had put another tampon in on another as thought i had taken first one out as string went up. The tampon was in for several days and the smell was awful. You can get different symtoms though and a internal infection like smell or irritation etc.

Be careful of toxic shock syndrome!

I’m definitely no better yet - in fact, poss a little worse.
The stinging is awful, still swollen, but no discharge and not that much itching going on.

If I knew for sure that it is thrush, I’d relax a bit more but I’m so worried I’ve got an infection or something more sinister!
Hopefully another 24 hours I may see an improvement with the oral tablet I took this morning.

If you've taken the tablet I normally feel a slight improvement (less irritated, less discharge) within 2 - 3 days, so fingers crossed this is the case for you!

I echo Gypsy tho with the TSS x

Give it four days it should be over.  But no sex for a week.

The tablet does work straightaway but keep using the cream until it improves enough.

You could also smear some live plain yoghourt over your fandango also.  Soothing.

Definitely an improvement this morning!

Swelling has gone down a lot, a lot less sore and redness has almost gone.

Still itchy and a bit uncomfortable but, finally, I can relax!

Lesson learned for me - no sponges!

Thank you for all your replies, you’ve all really helped and I’m very appreciative of everyone’s input

Someone mentioned they get thrush a lot. It can be a sign of diabetes.
I have a few health conditions and get thrush a lot. Sometimes over the counter stuff works, other times I need the antibiotic treatment.
Natural yoghurt works wonderfully for the itch. So cooling although can be messy. I'm period free now (yey) and use one of the medicine syringe things to shoot the yoghurt up my fanny. When I was having periods I would soak a tampon and shove that up.
