Advice on Advertising
« on: 27 August 2009, 12:13:52 pm »
Hello All

Its been a busy morning organising starting indie. Not going to get a website just yet that is something i will build on, im going to get a pay as you go mobile this morning as dont want my personal mobile for both work and personal. Getting a diary and address book. Im getting slightly excited starting indie as before with the agencies i was with they were awful 7 years ago paying a crap ?50 per hour, i then joined another agency paying me ?180 which was much better. These agencies paying ?50 per hour are still out there.

So going to start indie. Probably more in the southern region as took advice of london being difficult.

As for advertising I have decided to go on viva street, captain 69, and i want to go on punternet but is it recommended to start on the ?15 per month or ?30 per month as really want to build up. Im going to try some of the free ones as well. Does anyone have any recommendations? where do you get the most work etc etc?

I know to start off with it'll be slow but as long as it builds up that'll be fine.

Thanks guys and gals,

Looking forward to the advice. Juiliet x

http://www.saafe.info/wheretoadvertise.htm if you haven't looked already. Vivastreet was free up until last week, but you now have to pay ?7.99 per month to be listed. I'm not sure if it's worth it after you drop off the first page, but you could give it a go and see what it does for you.

Whether or not you want the deluxe or basic listing on PN is entirely up to you. Maybe for that initial surge of interest you could give it a go for a couple of months if your budget can extend to it, especially as you're a newbie. Gents always like newbies.

If you didnt get around to buying your new work phone yet, Asda are doing them at ?20 for a samsung on Orange or O2.
For advertising, Select an escort gets a lot of hits and you can build a mini profile with a few pics on. Local forums are good to advertise on too especially if you post. Good luck.

I was very nervous when I first went indie. I had been working in a few parlours & flats run by other people so alreay had quite a gud regular clientelle. Had the phone already, the clothes etc. I've now a lovely little apartment not far from a big shopping centre & motorway & I've never looked back. The best thing I did.

Good luck sweetheart.
