Advertising in the Sport?
« on: 07 July 2014, 09:04:10 pm »
Has anyone advertised in here?

I assume you can since I got a call from someone with an ad for me today but I?ve never posted on or even heard of it until they rang up...

Could someone have just placed the ad?

Very confused...
Least I'm not working at McDonalds <3

There is an online bit so maybe someone has put an ad on there.  At the cost I can't see them putting it in papers for nowt.

It's also likely that the caller didn't really remember where he saw your ad and just said Sunday Sport.

The Sunday sport is a utter waste of money, they charge ?65 a day and most clients are just timewasters in there calling about for details, the days when the sport was good died a long time ago in my opinion, also the staff who work they are so rude  :FF

I found my Sport ad to be very fruitful when I used it.  I think it depends where you are.  Some area are good and some are not.  I'm in Scotland.

They have now stopped using the 070 numbers to cover up your own number if that is what you want.  You can also put your website on the ad now too, as well as a pic if that is what you choose.

I paid for the box ad which is more expensive but if you choose the right day to put it on for the way you work it can work out very well.  I never worked weekends so always ensured my ad said Mon to Fri so that guys knew I didn't work weekends.  Ok you still got the usual eejits that didn't read in full but it is easy to point this out if you do answer the phone on days you are not working.

Initially, I used the paper because not everyone is PC literate but most can buy a paper to get your number.  I was always very choice in the words I used so that my services were very obvious to anyone who read the ad.

With all the information given in my ad I could answer the phone, give the info they required (usually prices as you are not allowed to put prices on ads) and take a booking and be back off the phone within 45 secs to one minute.

I actually got more work from the Sport than I did from AW for as most will concur, after a few years on AW many find work starts to deplete slowly.

I do have to admit their prices are not cheap but one booking in a week would pay for the ad, so not really a big price to pay.

Hi ladies. Is it worth it to advertise in the daily sport or should I just advertise on adultwork only , especially when I am on tour?.

I've merged this because it's basically the same thing.

There's no 'should' about it, as what works for one person won't for another (and as with all newspaper ads it's a good idea to use a separate phone) but why not advertise on more of the many online directories? The prossie universe doesn't begin and end with Adultwork, and there are still a good few you don't need a website for; Select An Escort, My Local Escorts, Sexy Independents and so on.

Why not have a read through the Where To Advertise thread? If nothing else, you'll be better prepared if AW decides to die on its arse again whilst you're away and paying for a hotel :).

Hi sexyyy, what you have to realise is that the Sport only goes out on three days a week now.  Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.

The timing is crucial when advertising for tours so it could cost you for the ad with not a lot of return, however like I said in my previous post, one booking covers the cost of your ad.  The downside being that you will get calls for weeks after you have gone home as guys simply dont read the date on the paper.  You have to make it clear in your ad that you are just touring and not based there.

Have you considered vivastreet with the 'touring' option.  Nothing is cheap, but with the right advertising and the right location, as in right apartment or hotel where you can work reasonably freely it can make or break a tour.

I used to use the Sport years ago, in the days before internet and websites like AW, advertising wasn't that expensive then, and coz
it was one of the only ways of advertising it worked well for me! (I'm in Scotland too, maybe it's a Scottish thing lol).
All the sauna's (or parlours whatever you prefer to call them) up here have shut down now, but they used to advertise in the
Sport for 'staff required'.
Got a few jobs through that too! :)
I don't have to be perfect, but I'm perfect at being me!
