Does anyone advertise in their local newspaper? Are you allowed to do that?

Do a search for 'newspaper' / 'local paper' and you will see that some do, or have done.

Legally, there's no problem. But as part of a 'we don't like prostitution' thing of some government ministers a few years ago, the publishers were leant on a few years ago to refuse such ads. Some complied, some didn't. The easiest way to see is to look in your local paper and see.

What's your patience level for explaining what's on offer over the phone? You may want to get a different number just for newspaper ads.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

It's generally not as effective as advertising online, either.
